An unidentified Philippine Army special forces soldier educates US Special Forces soldiers in jungle survival techniques. Shown here a giant monitor lizard or Bayawak trapped by Filipino soldiers ready to be cook. The Americans will find out it will taste better than kentucky fried chicken.

I'm sure they are, but my guess would be that naturally, Filipino soldiers are better adapted and used to jungle survival than American soldiers. Plus, it never hurts to crosstrain and maybe learn something new.

In Australia they did a test on KFC, and found out it was mostly made up of Rabbit, so i'm sure a monitor lizard will taste better than that :D

I read somewhere that an American SpecOps packing his kit for a jungle patrol in Southern Philippines packed 3 spares of socks, noticing that a Filipino counterpart only packed 1 spare and a small packet of Vaseline. It turns out that the Filipino trooper coats his feet with the Vaseline to keep away jungle rot and keep the feet dry.
Did not know about this myself, would'nt that make his foot slippery inside the boot?

I think the vaseline is for sore spots on the foot, so it doenst get too raw.

'Gimmie a bucket of extra crispy monitor, with a large side of Olongopo Slaw and an extra side of mashed beetles'
'That will be 20 shrunken skulls at the first window'
'Do you guys take debit?...'

My Girl is from NSW, says McDonalds was busted for serving Kangaroo meat some time ago. Not illegal in its own right, but if your advertising 100% beef.................
