I saw an episode on this unit a few years back as part of the
World of Valor series. Their unarmed combat and knife throwing
demonstrations were very impressive.

To add something...
6 BDSz now consist of three battalions, two of them (18th and 6th) are air-mobile, and one (16th) is airborne. Soldiers from the 18th battalion participated in the 2nd rotation of Polish forces in Iraq. Also, 18th is considered as one of the elite Polish units, and as the first unit in Polish army will be fully proffesional by the end of this year.

Not exactly. 6BDSz (the 6th Airborne-Assault Brigade) has 4 battalions:
- 16th airborne battalion
- 18th airborne-assault battalion (was in 2nd rotation of Polish forces in Iraq)
- 6th airborne-assault battalion
- 6th command battalion (was in 2nd rotation of Polish forces in Iraq)

Polish name of this brigade - "6 Brygada Desantowo-Szturmowa" I prefer to translate as "6th Airborne-Assault Brigade" because names like "air assault" and "air mobile" don't tell that every soldier of this unit is qualified paratrooper.
