Yeah....The official name is the 56th Naval Special Warfare Group. However, they're more commonly known as the UDT/SEAL team.

They're duties are pretty much same as those of US Navy SEALs, and the harsh 24-week training is almost identical. They also train with US SEALs about 10 times a year. Officers, NCOs and privates receive the same training altogether, and the average graduation rate is about 40%.

Personally, I think these people are the most hard-bitten gunslinging professionals that you can find in the whole of ROK force.

I watched the short documentary about the ROKN UDT/SEALs and I thought it was really interesting. I thought the training was extremely tough and obviously very similar to the US Navy SEALs training regime. I thought it was pretty amazing when they did the rapplling off that climbing wall and didn't stop at the very last minute. I tried to find some written details of their training etc. I don't know if anyone could provide this any information like this.

ANyway...WEll worth a look if you're into Internationl Spec units
