The latest issue of "Air Force Times" ran a brief article on the progress of the wear test of the proposed bdu. They basically said that the blue and grey colors will probably go, but they might stick with the tiger stripe motif. The hat is still a sore point, they mentioned that it's highly unpopular, but they didn't mention an alternative. The wear test is supposed to end in October, regardless if they do change the colors or not. They keep insisting that the test is on the fabric and the colors are arbitrary.
That's funny cause they weren't saying that when the general thought that the colors were a good idea.
If they fix the colors and the hat...then I don't really have any complaints. I would prefer us in a digie pattern though, but as long as it's not blue...

Yeah poo poo on them dumb colors.
Just have the thing have a grey shade to it and ditch the tiger stripes!
Just start all over again! :bash:

el b, I agree.
I really hate the hat and the colors...
...and the belt, and the undershirt, and the tigerstripe...
Oh well, I can deal with it though if they get rid of the colors.

If its in the correct colors it can be of good use, the blue and grey has to go.

If it weren't for your rifle, I'd have never found you. Good stuff.

That camo on the picture looks more like a Cadpat then tigerstripe to me.

Its not. The horizontal stripes in the pattern confuse the eye and therefor make it harder for your brain to interpret the image its seeing.
Its Russian Tiger pattern mixed with a Russian Kamysh tctical vest.

There I am. It doesnt really matter what "type" of camoflauge your wearing as long as it has the correct coloring for the area of operations. If they were to stick to tigerstripe it would be best if they changed there colors to coyote brown, and a nice green and a touch of grey.

Thats the whole point, they dont want 'camo', they want something that purely looks like camoflage that is distinctive. Its not meant to be able to hide you. :|

Yeah, but they are getting a lot of complaints about that one. If the pattern is not meant to be effective then why have a camo pattern at all? Why not one solid color? But I think that they are gonna try and go with a color and pattern scheme that looks more professional and is still effective at concealment.
Let's hope...

If they want to look distinctive, why not go back to plain OD or something? It would certainly look less retarded than blue tigerstripe.

No doubt, especially of all colors blue...were are you going to hide with that if needed? you'd stick out like a sore thumb. The pattern is effective...the coloring is flawed.
