What happend to all those great Russian athletes like Popov,Nemov and many others who were the best for years and now they dont even make it to the finals ...

Did you notice how people constantly set new records? If the old athletes could don't you think they would have set those records in their prime days?

I'm sure Russia's troubled economy in recent years has meant far less funding for their Olympic team, so they don't get as good coaches, as good facilities to train in, economic support during their training, et cetera.
