I have a question for the british board members.
I'm looking for a oliv green PLCE-webbing.
I heard that there are some differences between the older OD webbing and the newer DPM, is that true? Has the DPM already completly replaced the green one?
Will the magpouches will fit magazines with the size of AUG-mags?

Well I'm not British but I found this article:
http://www.practicalairsoft.co.uk/plce-assembly.asp
It contained this section about the differences between PLCE versions.
Version 1
Comes in Olive Drab. Two types of ammo pouch - left and right. Ammo pouches are internally divided, providing enough space for two magazines per pouch (eight magazines total off two double ammo pouches).
Version 2
Comes in both DPM and Olive Drab. Ammo pouches now DO NOT possess internal pouch dividers) Two types of ammo pouch - left and right. Universal slotted 'A' ring fasteners introduced on new PLCE pistol holster (complete with issued shoulder rigging).
Version 3
Available only in DPM. Ammo pouches available in two models - double and single, but left and right versions have been abolished, pouches can be used either side of the webbing, now, as the semi-directional yoke fastening 'D' rings on pouches have been replaced by universal slotted 'A' rings, which also now appear (in pairs) on Utility Pouches as well.

the older green plce is a lot cheaper to buy rofl
seems the MOD trialled dpm and od stuff decided the od was cheaper then changed its mind result two loads of webb gear brought in 18 months worth shopping around for the green stuff just as good but much cheapness rofl

@tenda: looks good. Do you use 2 utility pouches, or what's behind the double magpouch at the left side?

As I could only get the OD version I painted it darker. I found the OD was too bright green for my needs. I threw a bunch of paint on it, browns, darker greens etc. It looks shabby, but does a good job in making it not stand out so much.

There some stuff developed for bow hunters called bowflage that some blokes use. It comes in a spray on can and covers most common camo colours. Might be worth a try.

The OD sets were not produced in IRR cloth - the main reason the DPM sets were brought in so soon after the OD.
Yet another MoD procurement f**k up :cantbeli:

Martins right, get rid of the ressie haversack unless your actually carrying an S10. Replace it with utility pouches. If you're adament on carrying an S10, just use the strap it came with and dangle it round your waist.
Can't see why they stuck pouch dividers in the older sets, it's easy to whack 4 mags in a pouch.

That was handy.
I am at a loss on how procurement works. Absolutely. Why dont they just talk to squaddies about what they actually use or have liberated from generous allied servicemen. Be easy.
"Wot boots you got on corporal, and why ?"
"Brand X sir, coz their 'kin comfy"
"Fine - 50,000 pairs of Brand X then"
"Wots that vest ?"
"Arktis Farkorf, sir "
"We'll buy 15,000 "
"Your Bergen is not issue - who made it ?"
"Berghaus, an' its the dogs B8llocks"
"OK- 15,000 of them "
etc etc
Is this logical or is it just the cheese I had for breakfast affecting me ?

There is only one question the procurers ask when selecting gear is........ which is the cheapest.
However it does seem they are starting to get there act together, my local TSW unit got brand new pairs of Desert Magnums a few months ago.

- and dont we know it ! I was told that post Falklands we came up with boots combat high. In its trial version it was a nifty bit of kit. MoD went for a cheaper version saving something like two quid a pair and the resultant boot wasnt anywhere as good.

The PLCE bergan was based on the 3000 Berghaus Crusaders that 3 Commando Bde bought in the early 80's. Berghaus were asked to tender for the PLCE bid, but were told too cut the quality control to cut the cost. They refused to compromise their name...
The Mangnums are ****e (IMHO). They're PTI's boots, f**k all use for anything other than mincing about in a skin tight vest.

hey guys, that's everywhere the same problem. Look at the swiss equipment.
They always want to buy the best stuff for the soldiers, they trial almost everything, but then they see the price of the good stuff the soldiers really want.
If I manage to get the aXXhole of an armchaircommando in the "Gruppe Rüstung" in my hand, I'll shoot him. :slap:
And we are not even allowed to use our own stuff.

the webbing used by the swiss army looks like od plce. I've seen some swiss soldiers back from skiing in engelberg last year... your camo is cool, is it efficient?
