Well, the bomb dropped on Hiroshima was 'only' 12 Kton. But we have progressed so much. We even invented new types of nuclear weapons, such as the hydrogen bomb.
Does anyone know what the power of the strongest nuclear weapon ever would be? And kind of an effect would such weapon have on earth?

Tsar Bomba (http://nuclearweaponarchive.org/Russia/TsarBomba.html) was the largest fusion bomb ever built and detonated.
Unlike a fission bomb, a fusion bomb can in principle be made arbitrarily big by adding more and more fuel to the burn (stars are, after all, just huge fusion reactors). Strategically there's little point in making such enormous bombs. Physically adding more and more megatons to the explosion will only result in a larger and larger slice of the upper atmosphere (above the explosion) being expelled to space.
