I am looking for information about the Tactical Solutions International LEO vest. I'm researching it for a book. I've seen them all over Hollywood (Speed, Collateral Damage, The Negotiator, etc.) and I can't find anything. The only information I got on it was from militarymorons.com and that didn't tell me too much. I think it's an awesome vest (though I've never used one). This is the same vest the LAPD SWAT team uses. I know that TSI went out of business, but does anyone have any information on the vest?

Any current dealers?
Price?
Testimonies (Pro/Con)?
Cheap remakes?

I would suggest emailing the person at MM, I have asked him questions concerning gear before and he was very helpful. Might as well try it, you have nothing to loose.

The guys in my department's CMTT(or SWAT team) use a vest that is made by Point Blank. The vest is a modular system with the actual vest providing ballistic protection and being the base for a variety of pockets and pouches. The vest is usually tailored to the users needs upon order. [Example=The point man on the team does not use an SMG, so his vest has no SMG magazine pouches. The EMT has a small emergency medical kit on his vest and so forth and so on.] We have fifteen guys in CMTT and I don't think any of the guys use the same setup on their rigs. The last time I checked LAPD SWAT used these same vests. Check out the Point Blank web site.
