The 'Chrobry' or 'Krab' is a Polish variant of the British self-propelled howitzer AS 90. It has the same turret as the AS 90 Braveheart with a 155mm 52 calibre gun; but with different machine gun and SGD. The Polish army plans to buy 80 vehicles.

Looks pretty standard size to me. I'm used to M109A6 Paladins when it comes to artillery.

Yup. L/39 compared to Krab's L/55.
The sad thing is that MoND's priority are special/light/air-mobile/airborne/peacekeeping forces, and the SPH program has huge delay...

No, it's the Crusader, Paladin's succesor (it was cancelled last year).

Looks good kit. AS90 apparently did pretty well in Telic, so the Polish version shouldbe good.

Changes in Polish variant:
- new chassis
- Polish electronics (FCS, radios, intercom)
- new C4I and logistics systems.
Question to the Brits here:
Will British AS-90s be upgraded to AS-52 version?

Eh, true
There are 2003-2008 and 2005-2010 modernisation plans but government says that they must be kept in secret
And probably next year Komorowski will be back as a MoND. I wonder what plans does he have...

Looks it eh ? But it puts a 155m shell in a tennis court at 40+km which is fine by the guys that need it !

40 km is ridiculous, whatever happened to fighting a "gentlemens" war.

Its still there. Wouldnt dream of bombarding the opposition with anything other than the very best shells, old chap. It just wouldnt be right.

lol, no i was being stupid, i meant the gentlemens war as the old musket battles, u know line up and let the opposition blast bits of meat off you. And if u actually survive, you get a chance at the bastard who had a go at you!
