A Georgian opposition party called for a "Day of Rage" Wednesday to try to force President Mikheil Saakashvili to resign after police used teargas and rubber bullets against protesters in the capital.

According to some Georgians who live in Russia but often visiting Georgia, most of people there hate Saaka, because he created real "police state". Many stories about ppl being arrested for nothing, etc.
Not speaking about serious poverty there. So many people have their reasons to want him gone.
But these particular protesters were paid for protesting as I heard. Burzhanadze wants to take his place, simple as that. Saaka clan controls most of profitable business in the country, so I guess money is important issue also.

BTW, Burzhanadze's son was arrested after she and he visited some hospital, so I guess this "revolution" is over. Saaka got a hostage, and there's nothing she can do about it.

ironically, one of the dead was hit by a speeding up car of one of opposition leaders.
