Guess What Country This Is?

Can you name this country?

709,000 REGULAR (ACTIVE DUTY) PERSONNEL.

293,000 RESERVE TROOPS.

EIGHT STANDING ARMY DIVISIONS.

20 AIR FORCE AND NAVY AIR WINGS WITH 2,000 COMBAT AIRCRAFT.

232 STRATEGIC BOMBERS.

19 STRATEGIC BALLISTIC MISSILE SUBMARINES WITH 3,114 NUCLEAR WARHEADS ON 232 MISSILES.

500 ICBMs WITH 1,950 WARHEADS.

FOUR AIRCRAFT CARRIERS AND 121 SURFACE COMBAT SHIPS AND SUBMARINES PLUS ALL THE SUPPORT BASES, SHIPYARDS,AND LOGISTICAL ASSETS NEEDED TO SUSTAIN SUCH A NAVAL FORCE.

IS THIS COUNTRY:

RUSSIA? NO

CHINA? NO

GREAT BRITAIN? NO

FRANCE? WRONG AGAIN

MUST BE USA? STILL WRONG

GIVE UP?

THESE ARE THE AMERICAN MILITARY FORCES THAT WERE
ELIMINATED DURING THE ADMINISTRATION OF BILL CLINTON AND AL GORE.

IMAGINE WHAT A JOHN KERRY ADMINISTRATION WOULD LOOK LIKE CONSIDERING HIS 20 YEAR VOTING RECORD AGAINST DEFENSE APPROPRIATIONS STARTING WITH HIS OPPOSITION TO RONALD REAGAN'S SDI INITIATIVE [STAR WARS] WHICH LED TO THE DEMISE OF THE SOVIET UNION.

Just think about this with an open mind. This is factual information and could very well happen again if we don't get our act together. If this country gets in a defenseless position similar to what Clinton put us in the terrorists will have a field day and it won't be in Iraq.

Were we missing those forces? We didn't need 'em till Dubya decided to invade Iraq. And as I recall, it was Cheney as SecDef who cut a lot of the forces.

Some of this stuff needed to go. The 90's were a period of transition from a force designed to fight the soviet union to a smaller, smarter force to counter terrorism and rogue nations.

The warheads should have gone, as should have the subs.

Most of the 121 surface ships that got cut should have been cut. They were outdated, and they led to new ships, like the Arleigh Burke DDG's.

Shoulda kept the B-1B's that were cut. They still had 30 years of flying left, at least.

F-111's, A-7's, A-6's were long overdue for replacement.

Aircraft carriers should have been kept, and improved.

Indeed, lacks a few details.

Good point, USA320, most of that stuff was so outdated it had to go.

Many AF wings disbanded around 1988 flew F-106...

Some of the SSBN retired in the mid-90s were Ben Franklin-class, first launched in in the late 1960s.
