what the hell is that.... lol
That looks dumb as all hell. It almost looks like it would make a ****e fire position impossible. And who the heck would make a tactical vest for that to fit in?
And i would guess about 50-60 rounds

I highly doubt those fellas are US SF, and even more that they are anywhere "Nam" The only thing from the Viet Nam era in that picture may be the boots.
They look like some kind of kids, and the tall guy in the middle doesn't have any of the training I went through... all you have to do is look at his trigger finger.

I remember seeing that in a past thread about Vietnam SF...And the guns do look like the CAR's used in Nam.
HOWEVER...
You musnt overlook the fact that
1) The guy in the center has his finger on the trigger, which any SF would know better not to do when not firing the gun.
2) The uniforms look rather rag-tag, and each guy has different uniform items.
3) The guy on the right looks like he is 16, if even.
Then the fact that the image is hosted on simviation.com... What is that kinda pic doing on a FLightsimulation website?

not only is the image hosted on a FLight Simulation website, but what appears to be a Private, personal storage space, probably some free 50mb deal...

Not really, but the average age of that picture is like 17, and there is one dude with a goat tee with a non issue beret, never mind that the forrest seems to be of temperate trees not rain forest, and one of the dudes has its finger on the trigger while its weapon is pointing at his mate. Never mind that none of them wear any American vietnam era issue cammo and harnesses....

they starting teaching that no finger on the trigger, in the early 80's, I beleive...

You cant deny the cammo issue though.

Couldn't that just be some faded ERDL camo? Might be some of the early woodland camo that they tried introducing back then.

maybe, but any average firearm owning American knows you dont put your finger on the trigger if your not shooting... and back in the 60's and 70's almost everybody owned a gun...

The guy on the far left has some kind of insignia on his shoulder...almost looks like 101st. Can't quite tell.

I believe that is ERDL camo...
not to mention the picture has been photoshopped to hell and i dont buy that level of severe "lossy compression" to hide the details.

Yeah, it has been photoshopped...am i the only one who thinks it looks like the far right guy's head was cut and pasted in there...?
Also, the trees look like something you would find in Appalachia, ya know, like North Carolina or WEst Virginia, not the jungle of vietnam.

The far left guy DOES have a 101st Airborne eagle on his left shoulder...

FWIW
They are all wearing what appears to be greendominant ERDL pattern cammies and M1956 / 56 derived webgear.
the 2nd from right is wearing an M65 field jacket... yes was worn in Central highlands of VN.
Beret... surprise surprise, berets were worn... domestically produced by some mamasan no doubt.
AFAIK, 30rnd magazines did not go into production until 1974/75 timeframe. Earlier efforts included welding two cutup 20'rs together which produced some similar to what is shown 3rd from right.
Anyhow, if these are airsofters my hats off to them for a very good attempt at recreating uniform compositions based off 1970-72 timeframe soldiers. ERDLs are fairly hard to come by let alone 3 matched sets alone with period webgear.

Hey guys.
I like that Colt XM148 in the fifth (5th) picture. Not many of those are to be found nowadays. I've only seen a few, and they cost about $6,000. The Ruskies kind of copied the pistol grip design on the XM148 in their GP30's, and apparently the design is still good, since HK has it on their side-loading AG36 40mm grenade launchers.
I think the guy in the fourth (4th) picture should put camo paint on his teeth if he likes killing, cause he'll only smile once, then BAM. (just a joke)
I agree with you guys. It's called "trigger control". Any NRA member knows that. Oh well, they're just showing off, lookin' tough, tryin' to impress people. I might do the same.
PS: If anyone knows anything about the combat performance of the side-loading AG36, shoot me an email. I'm interested.

Howdy everyone. Found this to be a good spot to drop my first post. Just figured this is as many rounds as my gun needs to hold. :P

Look at that photo again. The tall guy doesn't have his finger on the trigger, looks like his fingertip is resting on the edge of the trigger guard.

also what many ppl are forgetting is that most of the men serving in VN were no older than 18-21 except for some of the specialized units for example my uncle was in a marine recon unit and he was only 19 we he did his second tour so don't be so quick to write this off
Just a few thoughts
