PALS - pocket attachment ladder system

stuff been around since 1997, Interceptor OTVs since 98/99

first two are CCV from close combat gear up in Denmark.

third is a rear right 3/4 of an ELCS setup Desert, and the opposite is MTL a woodland ELCS setup

fourth appears to be a rack with extend bib over an Interceptor

fifth is a coyote interceptor

sixth/seventh is some German offering in flecktar - if it is directly PALS compatible is unknown to me, but I would venture that from the pix that it is to a certain extent.

remember 1" webbing bar, 1" gap between bars and 1.5" btween bartack centers to form the channels. My preference is for 1.75" and 2" proximal to major seams/joints.

but could you link to the 1st two images rather than posting them to view - Those 1st two are from my bud, Keld's website and he has limited bandwidth availability through tactical.dk. Each time someone visits this thread it takes on his allocation and has in the past caused his service provider to suspend ops and viewership to his site.

By linking, it reduces bandwidth traffic.

hi,

pictures 6 an 7 show the "Infanterist der Zukunft" (IDZ) - the german counterpart to the US LandWarrior and the British FIST. difference: IDZ is a group-based system. the system is like i said suited for the needs of a group - not for the needs od a single soldier. it is being tested in kosovo since last year. it will be issued to parts of the german infantry from 2004 - 2007 (systems for 1.200 infantry groups --> 12.000 soldiers).
just some facts about the system:

- new BDU's (overall with integrated ABC-protection)

- modular carrying-system with PALS and camelbag

- modular ballistic-vest (basic-version has protection-class 1, can be upgraded via ceramic-inserts to class 4; class-4-vest only weighs 19lb)

- anti-frag-goggles with integrated UV-, dust- and laserprotection

- new communication-media (integrated into vest): new radios on group-basis (range 700mtrs in bulit-up-areas/1.300mtrs in open field) for every soldier, new GPS for every soldier, PDA for every soldier

- new binoculars for every soldier (with integrated laser-rangefinder and digital magnet-compass) with bluetooth-interface for the PDA's

- new 4th-generation NVG which enable the soldier to read texts (range 15cm up to 250mtrs), night-vision-adapters for the G36K's, laser-light-modules, surefires, thermal imaging/targeting-devices (2 per group)

- weapons: G36k's and MP7 PDW, 3 AG36 per group; there will be cal .50 barretts available for each group; as soon as the new HK MG43 (bundeswehr internal name MG4) will be issued, it will be the groups SAW; MG3 will remain (7.62 rocks)

german fellas, correct me if some of the info was wrong. i can add some pics if you want.

the system described in my previous post is only the basic IDZ-system. it can be upgraded.
