We have just brough a couple of Hatsan Escort shotguns in at work to sell. I'm wondering if anybody here has any experience with these shotguns. They appear to be of reasonable quality but they cost about half what a comparable remington or mossberg would. Wich of course makes me a little nervous about their quality.
Here's a link to their web site

Hmmm, never heard of them till now.

Not that that means anything. There are LOTS of small firearms companies. This is one of them.

I would shoot a [b/Turkish[/b] shotgun before I bought one. Then take it to a gun smith if you do not feel confident about it.

What are they selling for?

I believe that we will be selling them for around $350.00-399.00 canadian. Which is roughly $0.25 U.S. ;)
By comparison we sell a brand new Mossberg 500 with speed feed stock and ghost ring sights for $630.00 cdn.
So price wise I would think it would be tempting to buy one of these escorts. Which is of course why we brought them in in the first place.

Having made a choice between economy vs. quality....and lost, I second Soma's opinion: " Stick with what you know."

9 times out of 10 with gun manufacturers, you are paying for quality.

A Remington 870 will be more expensive but you will be getting a quality shotgun that a HUGE number of folks own. Thus parts are cheaper, gunsmith (if you do any) is cheaper, and accessories are plentiful and less costly.
