Ι wonder how much drag penalty does the Super Hornet pays for the outward angled pylons. AFAIK it was done due to unsafe weapons separation if they where straight

U.S. Navy bomb disposal technician EOD1 Chad Regelin, the 2011 USO Sailor of the Year, was killed in an explosion in Afghanistan.
Regelin, 24, who grew up in Anderson, Calif., was assigned to a San Diego unit and was working with a Marine unit when he was fatally wounded Jan. 2, officials say.. He was standing in for a wounded bomb technician on foot patrol when an explosion occurred. When he went to investigate, a second bomb was detonated nearby.

A Navy spokesman told The San Diego Union-Tribune an improvised bomb killed Regelin, but could provide no further details.
