Thanks for the pics. I appreciate more and more countries going indifenious these days with their weapon systems- You never know if and when you're on the receiving end of an embargo and moreover you're more of a pushover if you're dependent on outsourced military hardware.
With Turkish growth rates and development, I'd head the same direction. Congrats to the new ships.

It is very impressive what Turkey has achieved especially in the naval technology. A fast growing defence industry indeed!

Turkish Aselsan made STAMP remote control automatic weapon station. Also It's not only for 50 Cal. It has 40 mm auto grenade launcher 20/25 mm and 30 mm versions too. And the last Aselsan ınterested 40 mm Stamp CIWS model...

Stamp 12.7 with M2 and GAU-19 gattling gun

Interesting, thanks for the information! I'm surprised we aren't looking to buy Spanish again as we did with the LHD and AWD. Do you happen to know any of the specifications of LCT such as displacement?

As for your Perry class frigates (Our Adelaide class) I think we have already upgraded ours, but your magazine seems to have other information that I can't find anywhere else.

Again thanks for the information & sorry for slightly going off topic :)

I think @DENO made mistake, genesis for HMAS frigates.
four of eight turkish gabya class (perry class) frigates will get 8 cell Mk41 VLS and 3D Thales radar but only for ESSM not SM-2.

Maybe Armidale impressed from a Dutch company Damen Group's Damen Stan 4207 and 4708 design patrol boats including Sentinel-class cutters (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USCG_Sentinel_class_cutter), UKBA 42m Customs Cutter (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UKBA_42m_Customs_Cutter), Hero-class patrol vessel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hero-class_patrol_vessel), County-class offshore patrol vessel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/County-class_offshore_patrol_vessel)

Personally, I dislike that design and would have liked it better if the pilot house was placed up front and not in the center (could have given the boat ability to carry an extra weapon system ?).. Like this;

I always thought our Armidales needed some sought of extra offensive armament such as AA/ASM/ASW missiles.

Look how far aft the bridge is, there is no space for a top deck, i mean, that is the biggest bonnet i have ever seen.

Our new PBs will be getting the standard flex modules, which can add on many types of different attachments like the Turkish PB, but ours include Hydrograhic and mine warfare add-ons.

Something odd and perhaps interesting(?) about the Turkish Patrol Boat is it's use of a fish finding sonar ?

http://www.maritimejournal.com/features101/onboard-systems/navigation-and-communication/turkish_navy_goes_fishing_for_sonar

Wonder if it's been modified somewhat, any of Turkish Forumers have further information on this ?

Turkish Navy think Kongsberg Maritime Simrad SP92 Mk II hull-mounted sonar enough to patrol in shallow and coastal waters.
