Kidnapped Chinese workers were freed today in Egypt, but as more Chinese workers become easy targets abroad, citizens back home are calling for action.

If China is blackmailed harshly enough, I assume they will pay ransoms, they have the money. As they are everywhere in Africa, I don't see them sending big tough guys to help their kidnapped engineers. Rather pay the bill.

because China has good ties with many african countries, rebels kidnap chinese will be much more useful to bargain with the government than kidnap americans. if they kdinap americans, the local government may not care
but as i noticed relative news these days, chinese are treated very well and hostages in egypt had been released and the Sudan rebels said this kidnaping is not to chinese, but to the government.
