Deaf Soldiers integrated into regular units? the communications issue between personnel solved aside, what about hearing the noises in combat, like Incoming or bullets? or a racing car coming towards them?

They obviously do not serve in combat units.

They obviously do not serve in combat units.Well didnt say that and the article implies they will be manning checkpoints

More than 100 soldiers in the IDF are deaf or severely hearing impaired. Deaf soldiers are integrated into regular units

Soldiers have expressed interest in learning to sign in Arabic as well, he added, in order to communicate with deaf Palestinian Authority Arabs at checkpoints

I imagine that by "regular" units, it pretty much includes all of the IDF, except for special units and that means many desk jobs.

And unless my reading comprehension has failed me, the article says that soldiers have expressed an interest to study sign language in order to deal with deaf Palestinians, it didn't say the soldiers are deaf.

I imagine this wont be an issue for too long, with bionics, DNA tampering, and cloned organs on the horizon

Remembers me of the IDF article on the terrorist victim of the Maxim restaurant bombing, he didn't have to do his service but he's now in intelligence :)
