Those are nice pictures. I would love to go visit my friend in the holy land someday. I just hope things calm down there soon because it would be much nicer.

this may sound like a stupid question....but what are the yellow "V"s on the Israeli helicopters for? I see em on Cobras, CH53s, Blackhawks, Bell 212s, Apaches, etc

Is it just a IFF thing?

IFF= Identify Friend or Foe.

My friend is originally from outside tel-Aviv but he has been living in NYC for the past 3years. He is in Holland now attending school.

The palestinians had 4 helicopters: 2 Mi-8 donated by the russian govt' - they were in such a bad condition, the israely civilian flight authority (similar to FAA) grounded those birds on the grounds of public safety threat...
They also had two bell 206 donated by the saudis, parking in gaza - they were blown off at the begining of the current conflict.
For airborne transportation, arafat uses (when politicaly available) jordanian puma helicopters to fly between the west bank and gaza. flight to egypt are done by EAF helicopters.
