Does anyone know what police/military unit uses Airsoft for training? Do any of you have pictures of them using Airsoft?

Thanks, but that I'd already knew.
I asked about Airsoft, not Simunition.

Clovis, Ca SWAT uses AIRSOFT for training. I don't know where they train, but they bought thier AIRSOFT from a company named TEC SUPPLY located in downtown Fresno, Ca.
Pomona, Ca SWAT uses AIRSOFT and trains at the Kill House (Thekillhouse.com)
Fresno County Sheriffs Department just bought $16,000 worth of AIRSOFT from TEC SUPPLY.
In Fresno, there is an abondoned 10 story building where people play. Among the players are a lot of police officers.

Been on the job for a little over five years now and never seen airsoft used by any departments at least that I know of. Most stick to simunitions, we use them for active shooter scenarios. You might want to PM Dominique though, he's a little bit more experienced in the tactical arena so he might have a bit more data for you on training aids and such. I know simunition offers packages to departments which make them a little more appealing. Whether airsoft manufacturers do the same, ?. To be honest, I really don't know any guys that play(airsoft or paintball) 10-7 either.

I piss off my roommate b/c I recite it line for line when it's on television.
"Oh great, Viper's up here. Holy ****!"
"I'm sure he's probably saying holy **** it's Maverick and Goose."
"Yeah I'm sure he's saying that."

Top gun seriously rates high on the "PANTS" machine (note to yanks: that means its stinky poo).

I have to go with Martin on this one. Ever give the soundtrack a good listen? Good grief. That said, I would probably watch it again if I didn't have anything better to do. Ah well...

I meant Top Gun, but I'm pretty sure I have the Footloose VHS laying around and I know for sure that I have the Footloose soundtrack, b/c as well all know Kenny Loggins is the holy one. Besides, Kevin Bacon is from Philly, gotta support the hometown boys. Gotta love playing chicken with a couple of farm tractors while 'I Need a Hero' is playing. It set a new level in cheese.

My unit uses simunition and miles. Simunition I find is very effective. Since it's a 9mm round all there is to convert is the upper receiver and buffer return rod. Only downside is the crappy issued masks which fog up and the part about only have 20 rounds instead of 30. Though it sure beats blanks. Unless you're on LMG then you've got ****ty miles gear which barely works with the sim mask helmets.
And they've also bought some paint grenades which are pretty effective in training.

As of a couple years ago, Salina Kansas was using Airsoft guns for training. Airsofts are not as realistic as simunition, but costs are considerablly less!

Departments around the metro Denver, Colorado area are starting to look at them. My PD is currently writing the protocol to getting them implemented for training.
As far as Airsoft vs Simunition...Realism: About the same...Cost: Airsoft wins, hands down...

The MAA (Minnesota Airsoft Assn) assisted the Minneapolis PD with their Metro SWAT School a couple of weeks ago. We provided Airsoft guns and "bad guy" roleplayers for several SWAT scenarios. The cops in the school used a combination of Simunitions weapons and guns we provided. We also used blank guns for certain scenarios where gunfire effects were necessary.
The cops loved the Airsoft guns. Both the MPD and the US Marshalls (who also attended the training) will be working with us in future training ops. Both agencies are looking into buying Airsoft guns for their own use.
USA, Massachusetts PD using Airsoft for training, sorry no pics.

The masks and weapons the soldiers are using are for safety to protect from impact injuries when using Simunition. Simunition is a similar to paintball and is used to increase realism in exercise scenarios.
Some countries use RAMs(Real Action Markers)

Sorry for this, but I had to make some people wake up from their sick love of Top Gun.
From the movie "Sleep with me"
Sid: You want subversion on a massive level. You know what one of the greatest ****ing scripts ever written in the history of Hollywood is? Top Gun.
Duane: Oh, come on.
Sid: Top Gun is ****ing great. What is Top Gun? You think it's a story about a bunch of fighter pilots.
Duane: It's about a bunch of guys waving their ****s around.
Sid: It is a story about a man's struggle with his own homo******ity. It is! That is what Top Gun is about, man. You've got Maverick, all right? He's on the edge, man. He's right on the ****ing line, all right? And you've got Iceman, and all his crew. They're gay, they represent the gay man, all right? And they're saying, go, go the gay way, go the gay way. He could go both ways.
Duane: What about Kelly McGillis?
Sid: Kelly McGillis, she's hetero******ity. She's saying: no, no, no, no, no, no, go the normal way, play by the rules, go the normal way. They're saying no, go the gay way, be the gay way, go for the gay way, all right? That is what's going on throughout that whole movie... He goes to her house, all right? It looks like they're going to have ***, you know, they're just kind of sitting back, he's takin' a shower and everything. They don't have ***. He gets on the motorcycle, drives away. She's like, "What the ****, what the **** is going on here?" Next scene, next scene you see her, she's in the elevator, she is dressed like a guy. She's got the cap on, she's got the aviator glasses, she's wearing the same jacket that the Iceman wears. She is, okay, this is how I gotta get this guy, this guy's going towards the gay way, I gotta bring him back, I gotta bring him back from the gay way, so I'll do that through subterfuge, I'm gonna dress like a man. All right? That is how she approaches it. Okay, now let me just ask you - I'm gonna digress for two seconds here. I met this girl Amy here, she's like floating around here and everything. Now, she just got divorced, right? All right, but the REAL ending of the movie is when they fight the MIGs at the end, all right? Because he has passed over into the gay way. They are this gay fighting ****ing force, all right? And they're beating the Russians, the gays are beating the Russians. And it's over, and they ****ing land, and Iceman's been trying to get Maverick the entire time, and finally, he's got him, all right? And what is the last ****ing line that they have together? They're all hugging and kissing and happy with each other, and Ice comes up to Maverick, and he says, "Man, you can ride my tail, anytime!" And what does Maverick say? "You can ride mine!" Swordfight! Swordfight! ****in' A, man!
