I remember leaving Sarajevo in a herc dropping chaff in '93 to the sound of 30 or so guys singing 'Leaving on a jet plane'. No idea who's it's by (and it's more an end of tour song really). It's also on the soundtrack for 'The odd angry shot'.
Look on the bright side - at least it looks like the bufHoon is going down :D

If you want to be morbid you could send him 'Die with your boots on' by Iron Maiden :|
or the more sentimental 'Jet Airliner' by Steve Miller
for laughs you could just send a tape of that whistling from 'Bridge on the river Kwai' I think it's called 'Col. Bogey' :D
If you want to be morbid you could send him 'Die with your boots on' by Iron Maiden :|
Or send him "Run to the hills"
... soldier blue in the barren waste, hunting and killing's a game chasing the redskins back to their holes ...

Oh man, if I had to suffer another iron maiden anthem I would do myself in, those lads need a good hair cut.

I think it was "The Animals", they also wrote "House of the rising sun".

Not entirely correct. Both Dylan and the Animals covered it from Josh White.

When I first got into the stan I was riding into the city for the first time in the back seat of a toyota pickup. The teams there had just been hit hard over the last few weeks so everyone was on edge. We had a 4 vehicle convoy, and at least two or three jawas in the back of each truck. We were hauling ass and riding with weapons pointed out the window.
The driver was briefing me and he says " oh yeah..there's one more requirement to ride in this truck...(and I'm thinking like extra frags or something hardcore...) you gotta like CCR!" (credence clearwater revival) Then he started blasting CCR's greatest hits....man that was friggin awesome.
So send him some CCR...

Please tell me they played 'Born on the Bayou'...love that song!
...but maybe 'Traveling Band' is more appropriate for that situation.

That opening song on Tour of Duty back in the late 80's.....can't remember the name of it. I loved that show though....never missed an episode. I was around fourteen and completely in love with Private Percell. I'm sure someone around here knows the name of that song though.

Long Tall Sally

I'm gonna tell Aunt Mary 'bout Uncle John
Says he had the blues but he has a lotta fun

He saw Aunt Mary cummin' and he ducked back in the alley
Oh baby
Yeah, my baby
Oo-o-ooh baby
Some fun tonight, Ahh! ow!
Well long tall Sally built pretty thin
She got everything that Uncle John needs
Oh baby
Yeah, my baby
Oo-o-ooh baby
Some fun tonight, Ahh!
Well, we're gonna have some fun tonight
Have some fun tonight, ooh!
Everything's alright
Have some fun tonight
Have some fun, yeah, yeah, yeah, wow!!
We're gonna have some fun tonight
Have some fun tonight!
Everything's alright!
Have some fun tonight!
