'WAR ON IRAQ ILLEGAL'

UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has said the war on Iraq was "illegal".

Mr Annan said the war was "not in conformity" with the UN Security Council or with the UN Charter.


He also said there could not be credible elections in Iraq next January if the current unrest continued.

Asked if there was legal authority for the war on Iraq, Mr Annan told the BBC World Service: "I have stated clearly that it was not in conformity with the security council, with the UN charter."

Of course the Iraq War was 'illegal' according to Kofi, his son's gravy train was put to a halt.

Oh yeah, and there was that res. 1441. No biggie, its not like anyone was enforcing the other 17 resolutions already layered on the '91 ceasefire agreement. Imagine that, Saddam didnt keep to his part of the deal.

Mr. Annan just gave the terrorists, kidnappers, rapists, theives, and other social malcontents in Iraq a great excuse for their behaviour.

The war is "illegal" therefore anything you chose to do to the provisional government or the coalition is fair game.

Now you wonder why American's don't trust the United Nations or respect it.

Maybe it's just me, but I find the concept of a "legal" war to be laughable. What, do we have to file for a permit first, or take a driving test?
