Taking the piss out of the Islam doctrine and all muslims seems to be acceptable on this board to moderators, yet if somemen mentioned the word "cracker" or "******" or even "jesus sucks d***" or "buddha takes it a***" the moderators would be all over them. Yet, they are allowing people to call muslims names and generalise them, which sooner or later, has the potential of turning people to racism.

It has happened before (school experiances), no doubt in my mind it will happen again.

Yes, you can...But it seems alot of people are just "hating" muslims through peer observations and thus, implies prejudice.

No you cannot, hating people purely based on the fact that the are physically different than you is an illogical proposition. Those physical differences are superficial characteristics of being human that have next to no bearing on how a person might behave in any given cultural setting.

However, if you choose do discriminate against a culture, then that is ok. Cultural relativism went out the door for me when I was exposed to certain cultural norms in some African tribes, aspects of Asian cultures, and some of the Indonesian island cultures. I've come to think that there are objective standards of human behavior that should not be breached (infanticide, beating your women, considering other people property, etc etc) and yet many cultures violate those standards. For that reason I dislike more than one culture. You can therefore say that you dislike Chinese for this or that reason, so long as its backed by a reasonable objection. Its not racism, its culturalism ;) :lol:

btw, most people haven't the first clue in the world about Islam and yet hate it. Most hatred is bred from either ignorance or stupidity, ussually both. (Im not accusing you Uo, just saying that it applies to most people who hate other groups of people)

But people do not back there arguments. I do not at all mind racists, sexists, etc So long as they have a valid logical reason behind there reasonings. That inevitably in itself becomes an opinion which in my own (liberal) eyes can be seen upon acceptable.


Uouo, all you probaley see is islamic extremists on TV. That is a very small number of muslims, and the majority of muslims hate the extremists. And because all you probaley see is coincidently is all the muslims on tv protrayed as extremists.

1) It depends on the thread, topic and forum (too include falme content) in which any of the above appears.
2) it (MOD intervention) happens more than you are aware of becuase typically a MOD will simply delete that post in an attempt to "save" the thread, it is unfortunate but it prevents a thread w/out flame from digression. Individuals have been warned in private via PM and individuals have been booted for various like usages (repeated) as you posted in include, but not limited, references of Muslims and Islamics. Because you are not aware of action does not mean action fails to take place.
3) MODs are often otherwise engaged and typically (1st hand from myself, and by the admission of other MODs) do NOT read every post. I think the topic should read: Why is it despite repeated requests for PM's to the MODs during times of offensive and abusive behavior, people still would rather complain or make comment, however do little to assist? - a simply use of the search button will reflect the number of times this request has been made; likely 2 (or less) hands can count the number of times it has been used. I DO NOT pick on you for bringing up the issue and welcome such concerns, especially those that go unnoticed, or those people feel are ignored.
