Special mission unit seeks candidates
Representatives of the Army’s Tactical Support Team will visit the Darmstadt-Mainz area to interview soldiers and officers who want to be considered for a special-mission unit assignment within DOD.
Soldiers with the following qualifications are invited to the briefings:
Officers: 18A-180A – captain, warrant officer, 25 series – captain; 35 series captain.
Enlisted – Career management field 18 – sergeant to sergeant first class; CMF 31 — sergeant to sergeant first class; CMF 33 – staff sergeant to sergeant first class; CMF 67 – staff sergeant to sergeant first class; CMF 97 – sergeant to sergeant first class (must be qualified 2-plus-2, or better, in a foreign language); CMF 98 – sergeant to sergeant first class with primary language of Arabic, Spanish, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Pastu, Urdu or Persian-Farsi.
Other languages will be considered case by case.
Soldiers from other career management fields are eligible to apply, provided they are qualified in a foreign language at the 2-plus/2-plus level, or higher, on the Defense Language Proficiency Test. Male and female soldiers are eligible for all briefings.
The Tactical Support Team will brief qualified soldiers in Darmstadt’s Cambrai-Fritsch Ed Center, Building 4013, Thursday at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and in Mainz at the McCulley Barracks post theater at 9:30 a.m., and 3:30 p.m.
The briefings will last approximately 30 minutes.
The tactical support team will be available to process application packets and conduct security and technical interviews.
Soldiers who are interested should bring copies of their enlisted records or officer records brief, birth certificate or passport, latest DA Form 330 (for linguists), PT scorecard, college transcripts and their last five NCO Efficiency Reports.
