Well this is a surprise...........not!

http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30000-1102544,00.html

For someone who "claimed" to have had amnesia, she sure hasn't forgotten what happened to her,to be able to write a book for the million bucks!!

I wonder what she will write about,as she can say anything she wants and there will be nobody to prove she's talking BS!!!

I still don't understand why she is a Hero?

She was to stupid to read a roadmap, got captured by some crapy Iraqis
and some real Soldiers were forced to risk their ass' to rescue her! Thats Marvelous. :|

Souldn't the Guys wich rescued her be at her Place?

P.S. Hey California Joe! Is that your Mother? p-)

...and then there is 6000 new postings saying exactly what the previous 6000 postings have already said.

And btw, who are we to judge?????? I would milk that same cow even if it had been dead for a hundred years.

If her story is longer than 1 paragraph then she will have major credibility problems. The truth is:
1. Jessica was riding in a hummer
2. The hummer crashed while trying to escape the enemy.
3. Jessica was knocked unconscious during the crash.
4. Jessica woke up in an Iraqi hospital.
5. Jessica was rescued.
6. End of story.

No heroine. No act of bravery. Just a scared girl being rescued by real fighting men.

Playboy photo spread to follow.

Maybe it'll be one of those choose your own adventure books.

I used to give her the benifit of the doubt, but, if she truly did have amnesia, how the hell is she going to write a novel about her ordeal...

Hell, ill wait to read the book until i make any further judgements...

At least shes writing a book and not going to be in a movie.

Maybe she was ordered to have an amnesia? ;)

hood
09-03-2003, 12:30 AM
Well, another more probable scenario is that since she's writing the book with a well known author, she'll probably fill in the part that she knows, and he'll fill in the stuff that we knew about from this end to make it a complete story.

Odds are, it will have very little to do with her accident. Instead, you will get to read about everything in her life up to that moment, and everything which has happened since her rescue.

hey Budanski - you forgot the part where she seduces an Iraqi doctor in order to get some water to drink .... ;)

considering the number of "suits" making a nice little earner out of the iraq mess. Good luck to her if the army did'nt seem to think it important enough to train her to use and keep her rifle clean what do you expect?
And anyway she was in convoy

The real hero of that ordael was her CO or something yet I haven't seen him even mentioned.

I can't wait till the part in the book where she holds off the Iraqis with an M249 in one hand and an M240B in the other while smoking a cigar.

It is ironic how none of the other POWs (including the other female POW, who as a slightly-overweight African-American must not be as photogenic) have been given this "hero" treatment. Remember that one guy, whose picture was released and he was giving this "uncuff me and I'll tear your throat out" look to the cameraman? I loved him. Captured, beat up (from the looks of his face), and he had nothing but contempt for his captors. No fear, no pain, just contempt.

But instead, we get this "perky and spunky" person saying "I'm a soldier too!" Shoot, nobody ASKED that question until you volunteered the answer.

Who is the female soldier I like most from Operation Iraqi Freedom, who should be getting the press that Pvt Lynch is getting? Without a doubt, the A-10 pilot known as "KC"... (can someone find that series of photos of the shot-up Warthog which she successfully flew back to base?). Not "perky and spunky," just a cool, calm pilot doing her job.

rofl Hood,
Maybe a mutiple choice selaection,or the what happened next scenario.

Don't get me wrong,I hope she fully recovers from her injuries, but I feel apathy toward her, unless she gives the monies made to the POW assoc.,or to the families of the fallen comrades, then she indeed has a credabiity issue!
I also think that it seems very very quick to have this book come out so soon after the end of major combat, when GI's are still dying over there on a daily basis,as cynical as it sounds,I think she's had this planned since she started believing herself, that she is a bona fide War Hero.
Nobody has confirmed any other awards for valour within that convoy, and it stinks if this is not the case!!
Perhaps someone can find a list of all the awards that were made to the other members of her unit?

Argyll

SS,
I agree ,KC was putting herself in harms way on a daily basis, coming under fire daily too,and almost being shot down, but her attitude was "I was only doing my job",that shows true proffesionalism,to herself and to others who DO put themselves in harms way.
She deserved the Bronze Star no less the Lynch did,if anything she deserved it more!

Well, i read Navy SEAL's dug the bodies (of the AMerican troops) out of the ground from the back of the hospital with their bare hands... that is guts fellas.

This girl took a wrong turn, had her colum shot up, she was knocked unconcious and woke up in a hospital bed, and then a few days later Special Forces came and took her away...

I dont know how they can turn this into a story of a POW 'Hero' but i'll wait and see.

Could be a picture book :|

Indeed, i seen the photos of that Shot up A-10 and the woman who was flying it... and she deserves more credit than lynch...what she did took incredible skill and flying ability.

Flying an A-10 on manual reversion takes a hell of alot of work, thats for damn sure... But if i was in her place i would have undoubtably done the same thing, because i dont think bailing out over baghdad would have been a fun experience, nor would evading for several days until the city fell.

Come on Guys................it's the "P" word.............

Propaganda

Little Miss Lynch got rescued by a whole load of SF guys, from a hospital that had apparently been abandoned by the Raghead Military.

Things weren't going too well in the US areas at that stage of the war, the rescue following a "tip-off" went without a hitch, and it made good headlines - bet the US newspapers had record sales next day, TV news show ratings soared etc. So they "cooked the books"..............that's war guys.

Single mother, female (yes, I know they usually are), small, cute..........yes, same old clichéd story, but this kind of thing made good General Tommy F. and the boys look good. What if they had rescued the 30+ black female soldier who wasn't shall we say, quite so attractive to the media...........don't reckon the media/publishers would have been quite so ready with the million buck deals.

I guess little Jennifer is this years model of "Andy McGrab", and good luck to her..............guess it's a bit different from winning Big Brother, but she's got something to tell the grandkids - maybe she'll even believe it herself by then, who knows..................

Delta,
Her name is Jessica not Jennifer, and I think the single mother was the other POW,the African American,I can't remember her name,it's Shoshowna or something like that, not Jessica!!

My apologies on the name, however I'm sure I read that J. was a single mother - whatever, that was not the point of my post - I assume that you agree with the rest of it!

I'm going to post what a friend of mine from another forum said the book should go:

"Armed with her trusty stapler, and her mighty pencil, Lynch fought her own war, a war against the all mighty, towering tyrant of Iraq... requisition forms"

"Oh no! Johnson! JOHNSON!!! Lynch threw herself over the desk, came up rolling. She leapt for the machine, so close to spewing black, inky, hot death over Johnson's hand.

"You idiot, you're only supposed to push BREW once"
"Thanks Lynch, you saved me from a horrible coffee scald.

"What's that sound? There it is again! Tap tappity tap. Tap tappity tap... ARTILLERY! THE NEW TYPEWRITERS! HAVE ARRIVED FROM HQ COMPANY!"

And now, the gripping finale...

Lynch sat up, her ears pricked to the sound of Arab-speak coming through the walls of her dirty, stinking, cold cell, tucked neatly away in the back corner of the ICU, situated precariously between the Baghdad Museum and the leafy suburbs... an urban hell-hole.
"Excuse me Ms Lynch, a thousand apologies for this so errant interruption, but some American soldiers are here for you"
Lynch through herself off the bed, driving her standard-military-issue binder straight into the man's throat.
"You're excused."

SFontaine: Eeeeeh... I'm maybe a little stupid so please explain. Was that supposed to be funny? If so I did not laugh.

The person who came out with that must really have a galantry military background I think. Since he was so able to pin point her daily struggle as a soldier.

It seems that you guys over there in the USA forget that people make money out of the most amazing things, stuff and incidents over there.

1) Did she ask for the convoy to make a wrong turn?

2) If she was behind the wheel, was it her that made that wrong turn, or was it the other person next to her that told her wrong?

3) Did she plan to get so much hurt in that crash?

4) Was she supposed to be executed by the Iraqis instead?

5) I could go on and on and on with a lot of questions here. But I wont.

As I see her, she is a victim of lots of surcomstances that she did not have/had any control of.

I do not know her personally, but as I understand she is from a small place in "Nowhereville County" with a low education and simple backgrounds.

Behind her, there are now lawyers and advisers that maybe give here bad advice. What do I know?

What I'm trying to say is that you are killing the wrong messanger here.
It is the American system that you really should react to.

How many of you btw did belive the "hero story" that first came out, just after she was captured??? I guess a lot of you thumped your chest and said "oohaaa" or whatever creed many of you Armchaircommandos have picked up from Hollywood-movies and waved your flag t'ill your coach potato-friends ran out of film in their cameras.

Now that the "true" story emerges you feel that someone used your behinds and left no money on the bed while leaving you dirty.

Don't blame PFC Lynch for trying to make an honest buck...

Dang... I'm so pissed off that I'm developing tunnel vision here,... I'll better stop.. Grrrr

I knew exactly what happened to her when the incident occurred and watched in horror as the machine kicked into gear.......
