What do you think will be the most noteable\influencing military technology of the 21st century?
Would it be the first laser cannon?
Or should it be advance battle armour suits?
AI (artifical intelligence) controled weapons?
Or maybe clubs and stones?

I'd like some kinda stealth camouflage that makes you invisible...would be the **** for recon and snipers. :)

I've voted on "AI" tanks & aircrafts but artificial inteligence is not good word to describe them, because AI is tale of far(very far(very very far)) future, those tanks & planes probably would have nothing to do with any sort of inteligence(not including inteligence of their designers), they should be called unmaned or autonomous.

The the boomers are still the most destructive military weapon around. After these babies unload their cargo, I'd assume clubs and stones to be the most influencial once the nuclear winter subsides. ;)

Mechs and Battlesuits would be great.
I heard once that Toyota and Honda are actualy working at such
Machines.
I think even the USA worked in the 50's on a Warwalker Projekt

USA works also, take look at DARPA Projects (http://www.darpa.mil/body/off_programs.html)

Honda does have a division dedicated to a development of human-like robots. They managed to developed a robot that can walk but it do it very slowly and barely climb stairs.
As for Mech, beside of looking cool, I find this concept unuseful. Every system\weapon\armour that can be installed on a Mech can also be installed on a tank whereas tank is a more solid platform that enables bigger payloads (more ammo and guns), ticker armour and superior mobility.
As I see it, Mech are probably good only as an anti-infantry weapon and for urban pasification missions (guarding checkpoints or important buildings, patroling in small areas etc).

The military get mightier (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/1112411.stm)
Future Tech: Really Special Forces (http://www.discover.com/feb_02/feattech.html)
That's pretty amazing. I'm going to say communication though. Ask any military strategist, and they'll always say that the radio was the single most influential device for modern warfare. Combine that with satellite video feeds from predators, GPS radio signals from satellites, sat uplinks used by SF, tactical views of all of your elements while safely inside an LAV or Bradley via a private network.... guns firing bullets hasn't changed all that much. Getting coordination on where, how, and when those bullets hit via communications is where it's at.

E-Warfare. Imagine anything electronic that can be rendered useless. Like budanski said, clubs and stones would be the most influencial.
The more dependent we become on technology, the more voulnerable we get. Back to the basics, as backup systems are concerned.....
I voted for "Advance battle-suit \ personal battle-armour", seems pretty logic after the Landwarrior System or the german counterpart IdZ, and it would be pretty cool too :D

If you want my opinion, the same thing that has been feered for the better half of the last century...

I found this, its originally designed for Lumberjack purposes. Its like a Tank on 6 Feet, with a crane. Its still in design but i could imagine it a a weapon platform. The pic is pretty crappy but thats the only one i found. Make it faster, give it some armor and attach a TOW or Maybe a 20mm Gatling and it could definitly do some damage.

Well l too go the Mech/battlesuit way :D
Though l do also agree, that they would moreso be employed in URBAN warfare too.
Though for that & also Crowd control, look no further than OmniConsumerProducts....................ED 209 .
Speel by OCP Sales staff.....
"Have an area with disruptive grouds or dug in Rebel scum,No problem, once these units are deployed the Area will be silenced very quickly, though just remember to keep your forces back till the Units are taken OFFLINE ;) "

ED209 says:
Put down your weapon. You have 20 seconds to comply...

If you scroll down this page you see that some took the ED209 concept very seriously - RoboGuard Project:

Well, I think Skynet is allready here

i'd imagine we'd make better armor for regular foot soldiers first and then work on the crazy robots of death and destruction. even if u get all those crazy robot things we'll prolly still have regular guys with guns on the ground...
