You wouldnt have a video of this by any chance would you? I doubt there is one, from what ive noticed Germany isnt to open about showing its weapons "in action". But thats cool none the less. Any more info would be great.

Nice with all that smoke it makes a great target. Cancel christmas when someone sends some heat it's way.

No, I don't think so, but it's the main gun of the new IFV Spz. Puma.

errr, ...
1. yes it can be mounted on a Fennek
2. the new main armament for the IFV Puma is the MK30-2 and not the RMK30

all at all ... not too far off though ;)

'how many rounds per minute does it fire?

rpm is not important here because the rmk is a "sniper" under the automatic cannons

aiming accuracy:
radius <1.5m on a range of 1000m

it is important if you are going to make comparisons to GAU 8/A Avanger and the like

the Gau isn't a Recoilless cannon

so what is the aiming accuracy of the Gau?

don't know, don't care

I'm not trying to bash the weapon mind you (imo it's very interesting) I just think it's unfair to compare it to gau 8 and the others without taking all the facts into account and this includes the rate of fire.
a .50 sniper rifle to a .50 heavy machinegun

It seems to me that the RMK 30 has only a limited amount of uses. It certainly can't be used in airplanes and (I doubt that its the main weapon on a tiger) helicopters with the exception of low accuracy wing mounts. Sorry, it just doesn't seem that innovative.

Hey Grim, you dont think the vehicle firing would cause people to notice it ?
:cantbeli:

That said though, it probably wouldn't be that healthy for infantry behind it ;)

yes that does seem like a problem (he gas exhaust, is probably not good for your health right?

but still imagine the firepower by helicopter you can ship in with this baby attached ... you don't even have to sling it

and afaik the german tigers will definately be getting it, I think I've seen the mount somewhere allready

edit: there ya go

Sorry, it just doesn't seem that innovative.

Do you know any other 30mm, fully stabilised, recoilless machine cannon with caseless ammunition that is air- burst capable and fits onto vehicles ranging from a 4t Wiesel to the Stryker and above?

Having a fast Wiesel with the firepower nearly that of an IFV can be quiet a nasty surprise!
