Kelton Rhoads, Ph.D
After studying and practicing persuasion as an art for years--as a grantwriter, a public relations officer, and a director of marketing and communications--Rhoads became increasingly dissatisfied with intuitive approaches to persuasion, and the guesswork utilized by most persuasive "experts." Seeking a verifiable source of evidence and fact regarding what causes people to change their behaviors, he pursued a doctorate in Social Psychology, specializing in persuasion and compliance.
As director of Working Psychology, Rhoads is now a psychological consultant based in Los Angeles, California. He has provided training, consulting, and presentations for industry, government and defense agencies, political candidates, credit and banking firms, non-profit philanthropic organizations, educational agencies, public relations firms, and medical entities, helping people apply the principles of influence to real-world situations. He has been published in a variety of scholarly and popular journals, has given radio interviews, and has received print and TV advertising awards.
Rhoads has taught communications, statistics, psychology, and English at the university level, and continues to educate as adjunct faculty for the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and for the U.S. Air Force's Joint Special Operations University. Rhoads has also served as Senior Mentor for PSYOP forces at the JFK Special Warfare Center and School in Ft. Bragg, NC. Rhoads completed a second master's and a doctorate in Social Psychology at Arizona State University in 1998. Previously, he earned a master's degree in English and a baccalaureate degree in History.
but what would he know about the psychology of persuasion and propoganda...

I have just browsed through parts of the article and its very interesting and well written. I dont think that moore's film could have been considered a documentary by any reasonable means in the first place. It is propaganda and reading this article makes it very clear.
But this does not mean that the majority of what he says is not true. I think his propaganda has more to do with the way he presents things rather than his basic points. He is very much based on creating emotions and on being extremely picky regarding what to show. Yet, this does not change the fact that there are many dodgy points surrounding the Bush administration, especially **** Cheney, and the real causes behind specific political actions.
My point is that, although i would never quote moore or any other film of this kind, i would be willing to examine a bit closer certain facts and points that he makes. I think what makes him automatically biased is that he does not attack malevolent political practices in general, instead he attacks Bush personally and in extent, his administration.
As a reference, moore sucks...as a source of raising important questions i think he has done a pretty good job although that was not his initial motive ;)
PS: all in all, i didnt expect moore to tell me about halliburton's involvment with politics...a story that goes back to the vietnam war
