In my opinion it's export model of M16A1 carbine: most probably M619 or 620 (versions of M609 (SMG#1 XM-177E1 Commando) or 610 (SMG#2 XM-177E1)) or M653P (with 368 mm barrel changed to 254mm), made by Elisco Tool Manufacturing Company for the Republic of the Phillipines under Colt's license.

No, you're all wrong, it's one of those square-shaped guns with a red x lasersight......

I'm convinced that that weapon has a sub-10" barrel. It does have all the other pertinant features of US Army XM177E1's (retracting stock, A1 sights, forward assist, 4" muzzle brake/flash hider), but that guy would have to have GIANT hands to make that a 10" barrel.

I'm gonna have to go with it being either some random Elisco Tools production or that it was chopped up in an armoury somewhere.

It does have all the other pertinant features of US Army XM177E1's (retracting stock, A1 sights, forward assist, 4" muzzle brake/flash hider) I my opinion there are only two models of flash hiders - 89mm (3,5" from XM-177E1) and 114mm (4,5" from XM-177E2).

I'm gonna have to go with it being either some random Elisco Tools production or that it was chopped up in an armoury somewhere.Right, there's another option ;) I saw such short foregrip only in M16A1 based 9mm SMGs (e.g. M633) with 178mm barrel.

But the Colt Model 633 handgaurd isn't ribbed (the one if the picture looks professinally shortened, and ribbed. Of the hangaurds that would be about the right length as were shipped on Colt weapons, none were ribbed (the Colt 607's were miniature triangular 'gaurds, while the ones on the 608 were smooth, as were the ones on the 633).

-edit- On closer inspection, I'm no longer convinced that that handguard is ribbed...could be a 608/633 style 'gaurd, but I still doubt it...probably something weapon specific...

Oh, and both of those pictures are of Airsoft models (extremely well done mind you, custom jobs that took a lot of work), the easiest way to tell is that both have bayo lugs, and real E1's and E2's don't.

wow little scary to me how far those dudes take this stuff!!!
what a wacko website!

edited for clarity:
I am refering to the website from which the pictures are posted...I DO NOT bash airsofters for their hobby, BUT the hosts of the that website bills the website as a weird hybrid of US Doctrine and Order of Battle with their airsoft pictures. Just seems a little intense to me the level of "make beleive" for that particular group.

looks like Colt's RO635 or 39 9mm SMG (http://www.colt.com/law/smg.asp).

dunno if this particular specimen is a model licensed out to another manufacturer, but yeah, it looks like that one tha I posted :P

No, the Colt 9mm SMGs all have a special case deflector (looks like a huge cup behind the ejection port), this gun doesn't have that OR the A2 case-deflector lump. Not to mention the Colt 634/5/9 all have 10" barrels, which this weapon does not.

AHHHH, I've seen these pictures before, and I still don't really know.

The wire stock smacks of the X/M231 FPW, but the the front of the weapon (from the front of the reciever group) is all wrong.

Is Elisco Tools still in business? I never hear much either way about them besides they bought out Armalite and then the rights were bought back from them when the "new" Armalite was organized.
