they seemed kind of soft, if i was there i woulda been like "i'm tired of all this political jerkin off, i just wanna kill someone."
Its the Army what do you expect? hah Im just kiddin they will be kickin @$$ soon enough dont worry.
All that kind of talk is on the cutting room floor.
It's always interesting to see what the soldiers are like through each step up the military food chain. These guys are regular infantry in the Army. They're dedicated, but also have problems etc. Then you look at the airborne trained and some ranger trained in the 82nd airborne in Afghanistan and they're definitely more focused and determined and extremely gung ho. Then of course you go up from there to the SF or full time Rangers and they never miss a beat, focused like a laser beam on the job at hand; determined to be content in whatever situation is thrown at them.
I read a research study a while back regarding physical body adrenaline production as well as some other chemical in the body that is produced when in danger or in an extreme situation etc. It compared regular Army infantry with SF and it showed that the SF guys had a higher level of adrenaline during combat but thier adrenaline level fell to completely normal levels the following day while it showed that the regular infantry grunts maintained a higher adrenaline level for a longer time afterwards. It also mentioned that the SERE thing that SF have to go through to simulate being captured and put in a POW camp and all that good stuff that their adrenaline levels and the other chemical were almost 3 times as high as that of skydiving. Goes to show the SF/SOF community are a whole different breed of soldier/marine.
well guys im a pretty new guy to the military compared to u guys but the Marines are better trained then the regular army right and they are kind of in there own special group kind of like a speciacal forces/regulars right ???? thats y they have MEU (SOC) right .......
Marines are better trained than the standard Army soldier, but thats not to go without saying all of our armed forces training isnt good no matter how hard it is. The Marines have Special Operations Capable Expeditionary Units which have infantry, maritime special purpose forces, tanks, jets, recon guys, and other stuff which as a whole team are capable of projecting alot of power anywhere on earth. With that kind of combination, the MEUs can carry out almost any mission out there, but its mainly meant for a big punch that is rapidly deployable. The Army has many specialized units that can deploy very fast and accomplish virtually any mission, but not so much the ability to project a broad type of power (air, land, sea) in such a quick time. Thats why all the branches of the armed services work together because they wouldnt be quite as good without each other in warfare usually (mainly in conventional terms).
