Ryan...yes, the ACU's did blend in very well in the woodland area. At times I was better concealed than the guys in woodland. The field also had some built up areas and boulders in the ground, and the ACU worked perfectly in the rocky areas. I was sitting behind a large rock and I had about 5 enemy soldiers walk right by me without even noticing me sitting right in front of them. To bad the camera man was always next to me taking the pictures, and he wasnt able to take any pics of me actually "hiding" in the woods.

Thanks for the suggestion Kapral...but my laces were in my boot...they just came undone. (notice the one boot you dont see the laces) Besides..the last pic was just a stagged pic (notice my one knee pad is almost off) I was in the process of gearing-down when this pick was taken.

(small double pouche on leg dump pouch) why put pouches that will hold weight on the outside of something that will generally be loose and empty... it does'nt work well, it will be slapping around and will only increase your side profile when moving through scrub.

im not sure you listened....let me say again. He Does Not want one buddy, he sold it to me a month ago, now leave him alone. Marines dont all have ACOGs buddy. A lot of marines prefer to use iron sights and anyways, ACOGs arent as practical as you think. After dealing with a real one, those things have minimal eye relief and take a lot of strain to get a nice sight picture. In a battle, getting a bead on the enemy and dropping him has to be done quickly and effectively, and sometimes, Irons are the way to go.
btw...just go glass2 wont bug me for this, Im not an expert, but Ive been listening to some guys in the field on some other boards, and talking with a few guys over in Astan and a former MP friend of mine whos a recruiter now.....

Trijicon just recieved an order of another 100,000 rifle combat optics (ACOG TA31), so it seems most unlikely that the USMC replaces them with an Eotech anytime soon:
http://www.trijicon.com/Whats_new.cfm
Frens
09-26-2005, 06:39 PM
these 100,000 new acogs should be the versions RCO
Catch22
09-26-2005, 07:43 PM
Ok Frens and all others - Kapral was refering to something he has heard from me - but just presented it in somewhat incorrect way. It may not be a immediate change but EOTech Inc. hopes to challenge the dominant position of Trijicon products with their new Magnifier. Its a smart addon to existing HWS series including 551/552/553 - basically this new gizmo consists of a universal baseplate with QD mount fixed on P-rail behind allowing instant attachment of either special magnifying tube or monocular NV such as PVS-14. Magnifing device has about x4 zoom and can be installed or removed within a 1-2 seconds in field conditions. It uses the reticle of orginal HWS (although theres a new reticle developed currently along the magnifier more usefull for marksmanship, scaled up to 600 meters for 5.56mm). So the idea is to have more versatile scope which can be turned from perfect CQB CCO intto marksman scope within seconds with no tools. Magnifing tube is similiar in size to m203 shell maybe a bitt smaller, can be transported in similiar pouch requires no tools to operate or mount since it uses the "zero" set on HWS. Currently the thing is in final prototype stage, I had a chance to play with it and compare it with Aimpoint magnifier - it's no dobut better than the latter piece.
If it'll tottaly replace ACOGs - it's far to early to say. But when it'll finally hit the market It surely has the potential to do so.
I'll try to give you some pics in E&G section soon.

Those are European sizes. 46 is small and 54 is like extra large. You can find many European size charts online but the sizes vary between manufacturers so they're not very accurate...

If you're talking about the plate carrier, I got a small multicam one before they came out. Then, a large multicam one when they came out (Sold the small for it). Then, I realised if I made a webbed pistol belt, it'd bave more room than the large (wearing the small) and I'd be more mobile. So.. I sold the large for a small! Way way back, like I said.. before they came out.
I don't have a recent picture of my loadout, but after a game thrown by a friend yesterday, I went to the range with my friends, and heres one of the only pictures with me and my rig..

Yes, it's officially US desert BDU which is also adopted by the Dutch Marines. The army (KL) and also KLu, KMar use there own desert BDU which is the same as the DPM one only the color is different offcourse.... ;)

Yes and I know Meindels, GSG 9's etc. And they are good aswell, but personally I think for a different type of job. For woodland standard issue is good enough.

Cool, i've seen the headset go up on ebay, but I'm not sure whether i could wire one up to a Motorolla T5422 PMR though, did you do it yourself or did you have it done my a specialist? And was it a case of having to just change the connector for the headset or does it have to be wired into the radio itself?
Thanks in advance, btw very nice loudout mate, you really look like a squaddie 'n all

Nice suit, but way too frizzy for anything. There isn't grass or vegitation in the picture that looks like that, but may vary from AO to AO. You would have been better off with less thicker strips. Still, you got the light reflection down better than most of the ones i've seen

I use to own the IRACK. It's a good, simple system. Works well.

Sorry, I've been out for a while:)
Yes, that's an irack. I use it for two weeks so long but i can't complain. And as for BHI STRIKE, i complained after 2 days...
Imho, it's more durable, weight less, bigger and has more usefyll things(like very handy internal pockets)
in thread about vests i posted more detailed photos.

I mean is it possible to use pouches from Assault Vests on Belt?
dude...i have a MOLLE system....its called the FSBE. I dont have a tactical vest, those things arent all that good for my needs. If you want to know, my mag pouches can be put on a webbelt, as well as the GP pouch, but not the admin. Its hard to do considering my mag pouches are single pouches. You might want to grab a shingle or use ALICE gear.
