Not to go too far off-topic, but I for one despise kneepads. I think that they are just "extra shiit" you gotta wear. Anyone agree with me on this?
I mean my knees and kneecaps are still functioning fine.

Awesome, Tenda!! Congratulations!! What are those things you want to buy for on top?
And about kneepads. I sometimes wear a knee pad on my rig knee because that is the knee i kneel on to shoot. However, I forget / don't care enough to bring them with me sometimes, and I do fine. So I might just retire them all together. At least for now.
It just sucks kneeling on to a small rock or a bb in cqb and getting it jammed all up in my kneecap.

I don't think those bungee mag retainers for the Wee-/wasatch would really make a huge difference in the usability to the ones that come stock, they will only make it easier for a single mag to fall out of the pouch easier. Ok they look cool but...p-) I think the Velcro ones that come stock work better.
I want those velcro straps too!!! The stock straps are like a mile long and need to be taped down well to prevent them from loosening. HAWT!
I'd like a Waholster for my weesatch, only I dont think they make those for 1911's/Hi-Capas, only for m9 methinks.
When you are doing FIBUA, or doing stuff on rough/rocky terrain, kneepads will save your knees.

I learned my lesson about knee pads in Moracco. The ground there is hard and the small little bushes that are everywehere are very sharp, and when you dive on the ground you destroy your knees and your cammies. So i bought knee pads so i wont have to worry about that anymore lol ;)

I learned to use kneepads at the McKenna MOUT site in Ft Benning, GA. I had buddies who didn't use them and absolutely tore up their knees. I'm talking bloody raw. I had Hatch Centurion kneepads, and they were uncomfortable- you basically have to choose between losing circulation in your knees, ro having the pads slip down when you run. But my knees were safe.
Bonus: I don't have any pics of my airsoft loadout, but this is us at Benning. I'm on the far left, top row- the one you can barely see:

I love the single mag pouches(the same as Milla mentioned) with the bungee cord, but as the internal pouches are meant for 2 mags each, having only one mag in them could help it fall out when such a system is installed. But ofcourse you could always tighten the cord for prevention p-)

Harumph. I just never liked kneepads. I train in the desert alot, (well, trained, when I had money), and the rocks did bother me a bit, btu I usually just kinda scrape them away when I kneel for a break. I can see your knees going to **** if you are doing MUDF kinda stuff.
I also see how your pants could get torn up real easy. And how it protects your knees in an urban environment form furniture, broken glass, etc.
I also f*cked up my knee at McKenna once. :)
I've got a pair, maybe I'll give them another try!

Some stuff is missing for example: gloves, few pouches for rack, knee pads (just sold my BHI's because they were awful in use :/ ).
What can I say.
2 x WL BDU both by Propper 100% cotton.
G&P R.A.C.K w/ pouches I use in game.
King Arms chestrig. (Very good first impressions. I got it today)
TM Ak47 @ ~360fps and custom wood imitation. (Plastic stocks)
+ 5 lowcaps
TM G17 spring. I sold my gbb beretta bout month ago because of winter.
LC3 belt with some kind of dumppouch and holster.
Boots are brittish army's patrol boots or something, not for sure, but they are good enough.

Yeah, outside of MOUT they aren't much use. But they're a lifesaver in urban situations.
And, yeah, I think everyone who spends any amount of time at McKenna screws up their knee at least once. I'm going again in Feb, so I'll probably do it then.
Kartoon

Well the way I see it, knee pads are a lifesaver wherever you are playing. You might not be in danger of busting your knee all the time, but here, during wintertime, it's icy everywhere and you could fall anytime. Any protection is welcome at given situations. Also the pads keep your elbows and knees from getting soaked as the snow melts under your bodyparts.
I really wouldn't leave out my kneepads at any situation, since the woods here are filled with hidden rocks and I really would hate to get my knee in a surgery and then stay on the bench for six weeks. It's not like they're on the way, so why leave them out. It's about getting a proper pair one so they don't get around your knee or drop down to the ankles.

Despite the advantages of kneepads, I just got sick of them sliding down onto my shins. I've got Blackhawk ones, which have velcro straps. Velcro = shiitload of exraneous noise. That's a no-go.
Hopefully I can do some re-training in MOUT/CQB/GANGSTA ACTION with airsoft sometime soon, I'll try them out again.

I kinda half-assedly use mine as a rope bag for rappelling. It holds 80ft of 2,500lb/test kernmantel rope and a section for a Swiss seat in a monkey fist. I just strap that beeyotch onto my ruck for mountain excursions, in case I find myself on the edge of something big.

The C7 doesn't have a M16A1 upper receiver.
The C7 has the same A1 rear sight, but thats the only simiularity. The C7A1 and A2 have a picutany(?) rail, an do not come with the carrying handle/rear sight.

Well, nothing to add really. Just that I didn't have my WL jacket at hand and I decided to wear a Swedish/Finnish(theyre identical, the SWE one is cheaper tho) army turtleneck instead of it. And more pouches coming to the weesatch, plus I didnt have my mags inserted, so it looks kinda geeky.

Thanks a lot! :) I'm still adding stuff to it. Next will be Kirza jack boots and some sort of gasmask (Gp-5 probably). Perhaps an RD54 pack too. The summer kit will probably include a summer khaki and a KLMK or KZS. I've allways liked the dirty grunt-look more than modern spec ops one ;)
Great sites which I shop from:

EDIT: The reason why no gun or helmet is in the pics is coz I took them at school for an arts project this morning :P
And yeah, I wear those clothes in school... minus the ammunition pouch and belt. Strangely enough people like it (both teachers and students at school) so there's no reason not to, hehe.

Talking about M60 ammo boxes, here is mine, very simple. You cut the M249 ammo box and you put it in an ammo bandoler.
You can move the button to the thumb position.

When you carry the pig :
- you must not be affraid to be noisy
- you must not count BBs
- you must give and give
- you must have a screwdriver on you 24/7
the green button was originaly on the M249 ammo box and I moved it next to the triger, for thumb action.
The buttons has to way :
You press a little and release and it will feed and stop
You fully press and it will stay ON. The ammo box is the classic army one but I suggest you don't buy it. Prefer the TOP one. I had to fix my CA just after buying it. CA is really ****.

This is a project I've been toying with for a while.
http://www.pakieser.com/militaryphotos/airsoft/guns/ute3.jpg
http://www.pakieser.com/militaryphotos/airsoft/guns/ute1.JPG
I started with an M733 reciever that had a broken handle. I cut the handle off, retaining the rear sight, and built up a riser so if you mounted a reflex scope it would be co-witnessed by the rear sights. I then added a rail to mount the scope on.
I have to give credit to Rock River Arms for inspiring this design, which is based on their "UTE" line of real-steel recievers.

Yeah thats about what they are worth.
In bootcamp do not expect one, expect an ALICE pack and a vietnam style flak jacket...in SOI you might get the ILBE, i know you will get the new flak, but i had the MOLLE pack (pendleton), my friend who went to SOI (pendleton) after me got the new packs like in the pictures.

Milla, did you get the medium or large ALICE at bootcamp? Because, if I were given a choice between a MOLLE pack or a large ALICE, I'd take the ALICE. The medium's useless, but so's the MOLLE pack.

Well, I decided to go ahead and post pics of my now completed MC loadout. I am holding my newly acquired Classic Army CQBR in the first pic and my G&P SR25 in the second one. The CA is lightly modified to shoot 400 fps (spring, piston head and Systema 6.04 barrel in that stubby silencer). The SR25 is highly modified and made to fire semi only because it shoots real close to 550 fps on a regular basis.

*DEVGRU Throat Mic from Airsoft Extreme

*Altima Boots
I think that is everything... and yes I am fully aware I should drop about 15lbs. Mostly because that Eagle plate carrier feels like a girdle (sp?) or at least what I think one would feel like.... HAHAHAHAHA.....!!!!!

I can’t see the pics Gargoyle. And most [Every] SR25's are semi-auto.
I farked up the code the first time for the images... should be fixed.... I used < > instead of [ ]
The SR25 comes with the capability of firing full auto from factory. Although there is a block on the side of the receiver that theoretically stops the external selector from going to the full auto position the selector that comes with the gun has a pass through cut in it to allow FULL AUTO function. It has to be modified to operate in true semi only fashion. I basically installed a "normal" external selector to allow for true semi auto capability. Screw all the HK retailers that list that thing as semi only because it ISN'T true. False Advertising from Redwolf made be buy the thing to take with me to New Zealand when I moved down there for a year. You see they have a semi-only restriction in effect for importation. Needless to say I was less than impressed when I received it and it was full auto and did NOT comply with NZ laws.
**eidted for typos and additional info.... forums were down last night after I posted so this is the first time I could edit.

If it was too small to easily hold everything it needed to, then it was a medium. If it could fit everything it needed to and still have room to carry a grown adult, then it was a large. There's such a huge gap between the two, it's ridiculous. I can fit a fully loaded medium, with frame and straps, into my large, and still have room to spare.

I'm probably going to pick up a large to fill in until I can make a bazillion bucks to spend on a Kifaru EMR (Which I will use to smuggle children and small adults out of Cuba).
Blackhawk and other companies make add-on pouches for ALICE packs. I sometimes get one on the bottom, put a poncho, bunji cords, and tent stakes in it for use as a shelter. It also helps keep the ruck standing up when you aren't wearing it.
I gotta getta large. Maybe I'll order one up. Anyone know where I cna get one, preferably manufactured here, without straps or a frame for dirt-ass cheap?

I got mine on ebay, unissued, for 30 bucks. Yeah, I've got a large and I've still put some of the add-on pouches on it. With it, I could probably smuggle all of Cuba. Unfortunately, I don't go to Cuba, I go to Benning, where I become the ammo bitch by virtue of having the largest ruck.

Awesome how things work eh?
I found a large for sale by some surplus place north of here for $49.99. It's a bitch trying to find one for sale that doesn't come with a frame and straps, thereby making it cost $289280123 bucks.
When I retire the large, I may just get a TT MALICE pack, version 3. That sumbitch looks mighty big.

Gunfreak, I'm guessing your going for a US Army Infantry look(since you got SSI). Only the Marines wore flak jackets on patrols, the Army didn't.
Also, get some boot bands or something to blouse your pants, an tuck the laces in. Also, the black boots aren't part of your 'Nam setup right? Just a place holder till you get Green canvas jungle boots?
Otherwise it looks pretty good for a WIP.

Hi all I'm new here woot Greetings to all MP users (specially 'NAM militaria collectors p-)).
Gunfreak, you could go either with or without a rubber band, speaking about the head gear get one and only: Marine Corps Utility Cap for that characteristic look. Also while buying a M1 Mitchell cover ensure that it's got a USMC stamp on the other side (winter camouflage). Ask yourself what period of the war you're reenacting. According to (Lyles, 1992:16) OG uniforms dissapeared somewere in 1965 and were replaced by highly successful jungle ERDL pattern uniforms. Get one set if your period is after 1965. If not look for more Marine stylish M1958 Cotton Sateen Utility Uniform, but later 2nd and 3rd patters are still quite O.K. That's all I know about the USMC while I'm collecting the U.S. Army stuff still I try to grasp the arcana of the USMC equipment in 'NAM, so stay tuned p-)

This is minus the interceptor and plus the ALICE gear is what I wear when I need to move faster.

ummm....
ok...cold weather gear....not working well. you want to ditch the black and get OD or another color. Tuck in your blouse. get some pouches for that IBA (what replica is that....?). Ditch the red/white/blue flag.
Are you going for an impression?

Sorta, kinda, not really going for a specific impression, as i said over the summer i'm getting more pouches and the red/white/blue flag is already gone. The black gloves aren't a big problem at all, my friends in ROTC actually were issued black leather gloves. I plan on buying the OD flight gloves at some point though. but yea, i just don't have the funds to do a specific impression. and as for the interceptor if you want to know what brand it is i have no idea because i found it on eBay and just jumped at the oppurtunity to get it.

Well he doesn't have to tuck his blouse in. Not sure about the Army but the Marines usually dont tuck in the blouse.

LT. Lutz, Plz dont listen to Blarney.. He was just giving constructive critisism..
(No the Army does NOT tuck in the Blouse)
I think your loudout looks VERY awesome, you look Just like the way my cusin did when he showed me his Army Basic Training (Boot Camp) Pictures.. (he even has the black shooting gloves!)
looks plain awesome!

Not a fan of black....coyote brown for the win!
But seriously your load out looks good. Even if your mask is black. Who gives a **** if its black, half the stuff we have in the Marines doesnt even match. I mean we still have the old woodland style Gortex because we havent been issued the digital ones yet.

Slow down there buddy...
Best bet is to find some MOLLE pouches for your body armor there, and you'll be set.
I'm not much of an impression person myself (I think they're pointless, sorry), but if you want to look like a US Army soldier, you're pretty damn close depending on the unit. You could be a PAO.
Have a good one.

I'm gonna be getting some MOLLE pouches over the summer once I get some money. And a question, what is a PAO? sorry if that's a stupid question, and I thought I knew all of the military abbreviations.
Thanks for the comments guys. The only sources I had for putting together what I have was reading around on ASF, looking at pictures on google and looking at what my ROTC friends have.

look guys. Im only helping out. First off, the Marines have been cutting everything black out of their gear and arsenal, I explicitly remember being told this directly. Thats a point that has been brought up to me from a lot of marines. Secondly, the red/white/blue flag isnt worn during combat. Lastly, Im only trying to help out.
And with the tucking in of the blouse. Its recommended, not mandatory...most choose to keep it out to prevent dehydration. Keeping it in has things on the first line unobstucted and a better chance of getting to items faster, only oging off what I've been told. Its common sense, for winter, its even smarter.
i saw your not getting a lot of money. But some suggestions would be a couple of frag grenade pouches and a couple of the RACK or riflemans pouches all from SDS. A camelbak would also help. If you really want to go into it, a BHI omega holster and m9 would be good and some bijan kneepads. there is a lot to get. Only trying to help

Eh, i find that since our vests ride low enough the blouse never gets in the way.

PAO = Public Affairs Officer.
Blarney: The red white and blue flag has been worn during combat often. What you get issued and deployed with (that isn't velcro'd like ACU's) is what you'll probably wear into a combat zone.
Tucking in your blouse doens't help you keep cool in the desert. Depending on where you are, it could help. I don't tuck mine in if it's cold and I'm wearing polypro's (thermal underwear). Tucking it in helps alot with gettign access to 1st line stuff, like any tools on your belt, such as a Leatherman or knife or whatnot.
