I knew you would recognize it, looks a lot better when its outside of your closet ;)

Yes its the magical woods out in B.C. More specifically Vancouver Island, and this is it in "winter" time, so you can only imagine how thick it becomes in the summer.

Hi there....

Thx for the comments guys :)

I didnt pretend to recreact any real unit's gear, but its quite close to seal in someway.

Is is a coyote brown flightsuit, just wanted to try how it looked with all the gear in coyote, tan colour :)

The backpack, you can use it as a normal one, or, atached with molle in any molle-backed vest.

It doesen't take much to put all the stuff, couple of minutes if i am on a hurry :)

If u need a kitlist just ask :)

BK_NC
03-07-2007, 06:12 PM

Vince S
03-12-2007, 02:24 PM
I know some surplus here in Quebec who had the issued cadpat TV, so I guess it's not "stolen"

As for the vest itself, it might not hold much for a soldier on the field, but for airsofter no need to carry much more than mags and maybe a little bit of food and water

DnA
03-12-2007, 02:29 PM
Just cause some stores carry it doesnt mean it didnt slip through supply..

Even for airsoft I wouldent wear the vest, only being able to carry 4 mags kinda sucks, unless you put extras in the utlitypouch but than your loosing out on space to put other stuff. I roll with 12 mags, etc when I go out, $30 for ALICE webbing with 4 mag pouches an the other ALICE pieces an I'm good.

Theres better an cheaper LBE than that tac vest out there.

Hey...that's a time-honoured military tradition in more places than just Canada...Gear left adrift, must be a gift. :)

GeraldDuval, try these sites:

http://www.davesarmysurplus.com/
http://www.sealsactiongear.com/

They're both Canadian retailers that carry CADPAT, though it won't be issue. But in my experience, any surplus CADPAT you find will be in pretty rough shape; I know several small surplus stores that carry issue surplus CADPAT, and every last piece had faded into a pale lime ACUness.
That said, there's plenty of controversy over what "knock off" CADPAT does and doesn't fade when washed...head over to www.airsoftcanada.com for more than you'd ever want to know about that.

I would imagine so, some maybe even call out before even being fired at.

Dna- you have to remember that not everyone here is "Dna," your 30$ ALICE setup may be good to go but some people rather enjoy spending 850$ on a tactical vest setup that hinders 80% of their mobility, capiche?

?? Like, troops training in Canada?

Being allowed to wear aftermarket kit, is up to the unit(CO/RSM), I'm with the Patricias(PPCLI) they're a bit more relaxed when it comes to after market kit. Our Brigade Commander even told us to train with any aftermarket LBE, etc before our deployment to Afghanistan; train as you fight.

My USMC FR woodland impression. Not 100% realistic due to low budget and lack of time, mostly replica and second hand stuff. Bout €500 worth of gear including the CA M15 but it gets the job done - plus playing goes great for PT with all the gear weighting some 70lbs p-)

Just fake plates, about 3,5lbs a piece. I'm not wearing my gear belt in the pic there though which is included in the total weight, but anyway most of it comes from the stuff packed into the vest and backpack. Don't ask what stuff, most of it's totally useless in a reg weekend skirmish  but something you would carry on a full-day operation like tools, mre's etc.

Cool CQBR and headgear kuneho.

I did a 6 hour skirmish today with my gear (pretty high speed and light compared to the monsterous loads some people carry). Overall, I did fairly well and my movement wasn't too restricted, but I was still fairly tired afterwards. I was wondering how those people with the really bulky loadouts (with a lot of stuff, helmets, etc) cope with all the gear on, and does it slow them down?

Depends on the type of game.

If its Milsim and alot of standing stil or car duty il use full rig with body armor, helmet and so on.
If its alot of patroling and walking il use a fieldcap and a BHI Omega.

Yes, but for a lot of the AO I'm at, it's creeks, hills, and some heavily vegetated areas. For areas like these, I don't see how it's practical to have so much gear on and to be able to move quickly and efficiently.

Awesome pictures and loadouts Zero. Those kind of loadouts would actually work very well where I'm at.

Well, it is MIL-sim. Crawling and sprinting with beltkit (20lbs+), body armour (20lbs), weapon (10lbs) and daysack (10-20lbs, depending on contents) is bloody hard work. That is why soldiers are fit. If you feel that your team is lacking the ability to shift in their CEFO (combat equipment fighting order) then perhaps you should organise some physical training sessions for them. It would benefit everyone.

I think you're right. I guess it all depends on the AO. Having massive chest rigs and pouches everywhere doesn't help much if you're trying to wad through a creek, lol.

Sabre, the buddies I skirmish don't have a set loadout style like some team does. Everyone does what feels comfortable to himself. I was just wondering if some people actually carry that much stuff in the environment I was describing earlier. I can see 'helmets' and wider chest rigs working better for MOUT situations where it doesn't require as much 'outdoor' traversing as Taco described earlier.

nilz
03-17-2007, 09:42 PM
Some people do walk into woodland games fully kitted out with helmets etc. I personally prefer to keep things light, which is why I chose to go for a Force Recon impression. Boonie for headgear (with a shemagh or a balaclava if it's cold) and a BH commando recon chestrig rigged up with a 3 liter Camelbak to carry whatever I need.

When I finally make it to a MOUT game (most likely in May at the earliest), I will probably play dress up and go in full kit, which should be (semi-)ready by then (just bought a helmet and a flight suit this week, putting money aside for a CIRAS now).

One thing for you PvtVince, if you're using your smock solely for the SAS impression, lose the epaulettes. With the lack of rank within the SAS they tended to remove them (hence why 'real' SAS smocks don't have chest tabs).

Elsewise, that PLCE makes me jealous. Skoot around on eBay.co.uk and you'll find plenty of OD PLCE.

good loadout pte. Did you notice that in the movie sean bean taped a Silva compass to his rifle? Maybe an idea (although it has 0 practical use as the magnnetic north is thrown of course)

I'd put the water bottle to the side, that way you can reach it. You would have coloured pens on your left arm and to make it even more realistic show a folded map down the map pocket of your trousers. They always stick out a bit so the flap is left open.
What you will also find it that soldiers follow lanyards through the button holes of their top pockets on their smock. Normally one is for the compass and the other for a torch. Somehing like a solitaire with red sweet wrapper taped around the head and black tape with a pin prick over that.
I'd also recommend not tapin the front straps of your webbing so high. If you are playing a whole day you might have it pulled high to have the weight on your shoulders but want to lower it to your hips during the day to give the back a rest and vice versa.
For tape I'd use black and not silver.
Are you planning on paiting your rifle or add a nice M203 to it?

...Anyway good loadout.

RE helmets and beltkit. That's cool, it's your free time to spend as you please. You'll find that most infantry units will not have much variation between what they wear in FIBUA (MOUT) or open terrain or wooded terrain. All will wear body armour and helmet and the issue belt kit or vest. Perhaps for FIBUA, blokes may take a chest rig (arktis style, not massive yank Hulk Hogan style) or simply drop belt kit prior to assaulting, taking mags and grenades in their pockets.

pvtvince: To be extremely picky, you're actually wearing a 94 patt smock. Those thicker smocks with the zip pockets weren't around in the Gulf. If you have a windproof, that would be more accurate. Windproofs are easy to come by off ebay in the uk for around £30. May be a bit tatty, but who cares.

(@lerch: there is most definately 'rank' in the regiment. I think you mean to say with them not wearing rank in the field)

As for the beltkit, Ryan is right about the waterbottle pouch. Put it immediately behind the left ammo pouch. Your belt kit needs sorting a bit. You need to centre the to metal yoke loops on your back and make sure that the ammo pouches end up the same distance from them each side, or your belt kit will be skewy again. Also, the 'kidney' straps from the yoke are meant to go to the rear loops on the ammo pouches. In addition, bayonets (if carried) are worn on the left side as you draw them with your left hand. Right hand always stays on the weapon.

I would suggest this: Put the two utility pouches either side of your spine, with each pouch 'straddling' the yoke straps. Place the plce waterbottle pouch on the right and the ALICE one on the left, tight as you can up against the others. Then bayonet and left ammo pouch tight together, and the ammo pouch on the right. Use a bungee to hold it all down. Also, the ALICE compass pouch can be mounted lower on the yoke strap, by passing the strap up through the channel on the back of it.

As for other kit, the op was primarily vehicle mounted. The lads seemed to carry a lot of warm kit in their vehicles, such as the massive arab burnouses and big down jackets, and wore it to keep the desert chill out. It would be impractical to wear it for airsoft, so I'd stick with a shirt plus windproof. Bear in mind that for DA tasks, the lads carried CBA and Mk6 helmets. Regarding kit in the pockets, that would be map torch, penknife, FFD, spoon, compass, wooly hat and gloves and map in the left trouser pocket (if you are right handed, remember right hand on weapon, even during map stops. left had digs out the map and the compass). That's the basics.

As for the kit inside the pouches, I currently have a Canadian IMP, BB, BB loader, 2x P58 bottle, Trioxane solid fuel, purification tablets, torch, instant coffe, a US aluminum mug, and many other things. Yeah I like my belt kits to be heavy haha feels more realistic

@Ryan: The compass will no be thrown out of course, because it's on an M16 ;) Do you see me coming, hehe aluminum isn't magnetic, so it's ok

So I resorted all of my gear, and many thanks to Sabre, the kit is MUCH more confy than it was!!!

Here's the pic

Ok I wear the Para helmet, as I saw some pics of SAS with them on, and I like to wear helmet during games sometimes. Plus I think that helmet is awsome

Alright mate, you're welcome to the advice!

Just another tip. The two bottom straps on the yoke should connect to the two rings on the belt, not the pouches. That will make the belt kit a lot more stable. The d rings are there on the utility pouches in case you want to use them in place of an ammo pouch (for link etc). Also, try to fit your pouches closer together. Your belt kit shouldnt be able to lay flat. It should naturally curve to fit your body. Try to get the ammo pouches at your sides, not round your front, and this will help. You'll find having the pouches that far forward will get in the way of crawling.

Found a (hopefully) useful thread for you.

Once again, your advice is gold! Gotta say it now fits better around the waist.

I don,t have bungee cord right now so I use ice skate lace  to tie the pouches together

http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d157/pvtvince/P1000889.jpg

And if someday you start a Vietnam impression drop me a line, that's more my field of knowledge haha

I just saw the links, thanks

Sabre
03-18-2007, 03:16 PM
Nice, looks a lot better. I cant see the boot lace so I assume it's running through the straps on the backs of the pouches? That's fine, we have utility straps that do that. The bungee is meant to go around the outside of the pouches to stop them bouncing and tie it all together. You'll see some good pics in that thread I linked. Hope it works well for you. Test and adjust as you use it.

Hehe, I was trial-packing my stuff so I could weigh it and prevent annoying surprises at the airport (was over my limit last time, but was only challenged on it on the way back). Noë started taking an interest in my stuff, so I put the commando recon and the fostex hinged balaclava on her and gave her the M4 Tactical Cardbine (tm) that I made for some comedy pics I took for my teammates the other day. Noë will be 2 years old in May.

You wouldn't think asking what someone was wearing would be such an insulting and inflamatory question.

1. I don't get paid to kitlist.
2. Real soldiers don't do kitlist, why should I.
3. Go to your favorite gear store, find it there. If you can't find it, tough luck, stop copying other people's gear and make your own.

I forgot your time was so valuable. We should all start paying you so we can have the privelage of learning from you.

You're not a real soldier, and dressing up like one doesn't mean you deserve the respect a real soldier should have. You're also posting on a thread asking "What airsoft loadout do u have?", so there's no reason to be a pompous ass when someone asks what airsoft loadout you have. Some people might take interest in the gear you're using because it looks like the kind of thing they're searching for.

Also, listing what gear it is, actually makes someone more jealous when they find out.

"Ooh, that's an Oakley, that must be expensive."

"Ooh, that's a Paraclete RAV, you must be rich."

"Ooh, that's a replica, you must be jobless or poor."

For a forum dedicated to dressing up like Soldiers/Marines and shooting people with replica guns, there sure are a lot of sensitive souls on here. I thought people who blocked over or coverred their faces for pictures were silly, but this is just funny.

Don't know why the hell people are acting all pissed off over something so minor. I don't believe Roanoke's initial question was supposed to offend anyone. The airsoft community is already getting flak from other people, so I don't see how arguing between airsofters is any way productive for this hobby.

Kind of sad in my opinion... but I'm sure everyone has their own bad days and have different ways of handling it.

Nilz, awesome picture you posted! Gotta love that Carbine you made.

P.S.: Just a little thing though, you might want to pull your elbows in a little closer to your body. It's more "tacticool" that way, and it helps to present a smaller target to the opfor.
