MP? no you need to specialize in the field to do that. You have control over what you want to do, whether it be musical ride, PSD, ERT, homicide, Drugs, UCA. Ill level with you that i have just finished and passed my application to head to Depot, i just need a date. Hopefully by christmas ill be in a red serge. I know a quite a few mounties, and im researching the specific field i want to advance in, one of them being MP at one point.
So in short, you have to volunteer. : )
MPs are Military Police and they are members of the CF not the RCMP. Some RCMP members (many of them are ERT but not all are) deploy with us overseas but they are not MPs.

As for my reason for not joining the military, they dont take fat asses. ;)
I will be joining the reserves in the future when I'm in better shape and settled in a little more career wise. Most likely I'll be joining the engineers.

Whatever RCMP members i talked to who served as MP were mounties before they were CF. I guess you can be a member and enlist at the same time. Sorry if ididnt quite answer your question.

2 different worlds. Read here to learn what MPs do. I also was accepted for Depot but I turned them down to join the Forces instead.

I have a question. (This is not a flame and if you take it that way just ignore me because I dont want to be responsible for trouble in your airsoft area) If you guys are all so big on the military and re-enacting troops ect why don't you join up with your countries military? I am interested to hear your thoughts, and once again this is just a respectful question.
Well I tried to enlist in the CF but failed the medical test... All these years of skateboard, snowboard, football, mountain bike and bmx did quite a good job on my right knee and the only way to get another chance would be a surgery after wich I would sit on my ass for 6month. Maybe one day... Until then airsoft is the only place where I can do something that I've always been attracted by. You guys have all of my respect!!

So far I've spent around $400 on gear. I've narrowed it down to around $60 left. Problem is I have no clue what I want to purchase. I need some help finding my last items I want to buy.
Currently I have a new Blackwater Ball-cap, 2x M4 mags, and 3x ranger mag pulls being sent to me
This is my gear,
Can anyone help me out here?

I already have a pair of Nomex gloves. I've been taking a dump pouch into consideration for a few days now. Thought about buying around two more mag pouches but I'm not sure about it. However the headset is not a bad idea.

Same here. Except I that I tried to join the USMC about a year after high school, and didn't even make it to the physical! After a couple of work related accidents, and years of me just being an idiot, both my knees were pretty banged up. They told me that I'd need surgery on both knees, but that if I didn't rehab right, it wouldn't be a sure thing. So after a few years, I found out about my state's SDF. I've been enlisted in the SDF for about 2 1/4 years and I'm currently studying and getting fit to attend my local PD's academy, to train to become a Police Officer.
I'm relatively new to airsoft, though.

A quick follow up on CanuckScaley's question, some of you have already hinted at this already:
If you are content in civvy street, but still have an interest in the military (enough to shell out loads on kit and run around in your spare time), how many have considered joining the Reserves/TA/NG etc?

I am definitely thinking about the NatRes, maybe in a year or 2, when my daughter's 4-ish. I need to investigate first, because knowing this country, the NatRes may well be a bit too soft.

Just drop "Cavalry Toto headset" into Google and you'll find some shops selling them. The HK shops are selling them too, but they can't spell for **** :)
Redwolf calls it "Cavalvy Toto" and at WGC it's called a "Caveley Elite"
You have just become become a victim of what I call 'internetness'. You actually believe everything you read, but its dangerous to base your knowledge just on internet-info instead of hands-on experiences... I rather see for myself! And so can you, just look at this:http://img504.imageshack.us/img504/5780/img5475yb1.jpg It's the packaging of the Bowman replica. So... I guess the HK shops actually CAN spel for **** :) LOL!

I quit a 50,000+ dollar a year job at age 32 to enlist as a private. Now I'm about to be promoted to MCpl and I again make around 50,000 a year. I have served overseas and I'm heading back next year. I would'nt trade a second of it for anything. It was a gamble and it cost me ( A divorce from my first wife) but the pay-off has been huge.
I choose tons of my own gear and I get to wear it when it counts.
as You said. it's often a gamble.
As for me, I like to be sure for my cards ;)

The numbering system is for scoring the competition. So, I made them. We use a simple designation...
1-12 or A1-6/B1-6 or any breakdown of Alpha/Num system so the scorers can see who you are so when you make an error they can score it accordingly...and your team can work on those problem areas.
So, more or less: A template, spraypaint, and some velcro and you are good to go.
The magpulls work well with how I have them layed out in the gear. It makes it easy to single one out and yank it.
*to answer the magpull question: They are 100mph tape. No reason to spend a grip on rubber, when you can bust out the old tape for the win!

I am interested to hear your thoughts, and once again this is just a respectful question.
Sig, I am glad you asked that question. Here's why. I had been an Army helicopter crew chief and an Air Force SF (MP), combined for 11 years. I got out 3 years ago (all reserve time, but active for 2 years). I am also a cop, a swat qualified gang detective, to be percise. I thought airsoft and milsim guys were goofy and wannabys. I fought the urge to try it for along time, thinking it was geeky. I was kind of embarresed to try airsoft for the longest time. I tryed it and found alot of other cops and vets play. I also noticed that most of the younger players are respectful and want to learn from the more worldly players. I have about five weapons now and all sorts of different camo. I love playing, but it makes me miss the real operational incidents that I have experienced in the police and military. I have three times more gear now than I every did, even when I was deployed. I think that is too funny! Thanks, Dave

Ok, this is what I need. Crye's sizing is really great. I need their size 36, which is like midway betwwen medium and large. Regular BDU sizing does not fit me. Medium is too small, large too big. Is there anything out there that makes their sizes like Crye?

afaik Crye are the only ones to employ and actually measurement system over a 'banding' system of s, m, l, xl, etc...

Everything is nicely designed I would say and since they use the real fabric it's rock solid. As I said the main problem is the sizing being smaller than a lot of company, thank god I'm not too big. I mean there's at least 4 of my teammates that had to sell their pants since they wouldn't fit even though they bought the same size as their Propper bdu.
Another thing about Ice Tactical is you better not hold your breath while waiting for your order, we did a group order with about 15 peoples and it took us a total of 4 months to receive everything.

I guess they are CA based. That is an awfully long time to wait. Any of your friends want to sell a size large set?

No
afaik Crye are the only ones to employ and actually measurement system over a 'banding' system of s, m, l, xl, etc...
Cyre is one of the few 'companies' that does it, Dropzone Tactical does it too. Also, most NATO countries have precise measurements on their kit.

If you're talking about ICE Tactical based out of vancouver, I wouldnt go with them anymore, their reputation and apperently their customer service as well have taken a nose dive lately.
Tru-Spec is probably your best bet. If you're having a problem with the sizing, you probably just ordered the wrong size of BDU, try the next size up or down.

The TRU's have a drawstring waist, pull it tight around your waist and they should fit.

Baggy is normal, since most combat shirts/jackets are made so you can wear stuff (sweaters and thermals) underneath. Get your actual chest size with a measuring tape and use that to buy your sizes, which are generally;
-30 = small
30-38 = medium
38-45 = large
45+ = xlarge

Are you sure thats not how they are supposed to be? The ACU's and TRU's are alot baggier than BDU's.

My issued Army ACUs are a medium, and they fit. Anything civi made appears to be sized a little off. I will just get them altered. I wich I could find a real Crye made set though.

What type of Army loadout are you doing? Regular infantry aren't issued Eagle mag pouches and rarely use them; SDS brand pouches would be the way to go. But by the looks of the helmet and RAID DCUs, I'd say you're going for a SF loadout. If that's the case, you should think about investing in a CIRAS replica in CB and putting the Eagle pouches on that.

D.Sigurdsson

you can buy velcro with or without glue, I've found that even though you get one with adhesive background (glue) it wont stick for long on most helmets.
Best is to get a non-glue one and then with some epoxy glue or similar attach it to your helmet.

arent the pro-tec kneepads a little bulky??? I had some and was disapointed with how tight they were and how wide they were But wen you have to hit the dirt alot they are quite comfortable:) ...just not very high speed, they kinda slow you down :(
Bernd

No your eyes arent groggy. The pouches are really form a SAAV... We customised it and now I got nice pouches on my beltline p-)
And the Pro-Tecs are in my opinion REALLY good kneepads. They are fitting perfect and they never slip around. Perhaps you bought yours in a wrong size but for me they are quite comfortable. And they make no difference in speed...

LOL man, it's about how you present yourself online. Too many people with a lot of funding just lack the dedication to "whore" themselves in the photos.

arent the pro-tec kneepads a little bulky??? I had some and was disapointed with how tight they were and how wide they were But wen you have to hit the dirt alot they are quite comfortable:) ...just not very high speed, they kinda slow you down :(
actually, i wear the pro-tec kneepads and they do not slow me down at all though i do alot of running and crawling through underbrush and such. Also, although they are a bit bulky, this does not snag on anything and only helps when sliding and crawling over...anything. Finally, although they may seem a bit tight and awkward when you are just standing around, that is because they are designed to be worn with the knee bent (as when in a tactical stance) and enables them to not slide or move through rigerous movement.

Actually for skateboarding bro, it was actually made for that but your Tactical stance helps I just found that use over time I dislike kneepads at all I dont hate the protecs just dislike em

not to be mean or anything, but have you thought of perhaps rolling down your sleves and painting your entire face, or getting a lighter camoflage that matches your area better?

He has a point. I live in Central Florida, and you pretty much have to play with sleeves up here. If not you could overheat. Alot of people here play in shorts and tee-shirts, even though they have full military setups. Running around in full setups while it is 90 degrees outside can lead to serious heat sickness.

Normally we got sleves down but on this day it was really friggin HOT.
--> "Dehydration is the biggest enemy of a soldier"
And as you can see, we were no recon/sniper team on this day.
We run a high profile Mission and then its not interesting if u got ur sleves up or down.
Oh yeah and next time we´ll paint the whole face. The camoflage matched the area perfectly... We played in European wood. Just on the photos we were on a beach at the River. Afterwards we disappeared in the wood again.

what do you think would work for this environment? should i stick with woodland or go with 3 color desert?
Desert would work well for a lot of that, but so would woodland once it gets covered in dust an fades a bit.
Multicam would be the best one though.

It seems like a copy of the Eagle PC w/ Cumberbund. Basically a CIRAS without the quick release function. Everyone I've heard from said they love it. Lots of real estate.
Found this.
http://triadtactical.com/?mainURL=%2Fstore%2Fitem%2Fx52h%2FPlatforms%2FEagle_Plate_Carrier_with_Cummerbund_Multicam_Small%2FMed.html%3Fitem_id%3Dx52h
When you can get the real Eagle PC for that price, why pay like $200+ for a replica CIRAS when you'll never use the Quick Release.

Last sunday, decided to go for a fast and simple loadout.
Kitlist:
- Standard KL DPM BDU with KL boonie
- Uncle Mikes holster with KSC Glock 17
- Bowman headset wired to a Kenwood TK3207
- Arktis chestrig
- Diemaco C8A1 with EOTech 552
- Oakley M frame
You look just like a yank in DPM! You've got to take that bayonet skabard off your leg for a start! Sort out your bush hat as well.... and just don't stand like such a bloody yank!
