View Full Version : What airsoft kit do you have?

Polygon I think you're right on the money there. If you go with multicam, you'll pretty much end up looking just like every one else who did the same decision.
My favourite camo patterns are US woodland, German flectarn and 3 color desert. And as the given US camo patterns aren't the least seen patterns on the airsoft fields they still offer plenty of room for individuality while preserving an authentic look. You can go your own way with it. With flecktarn it's pretty much the same, it doesn't grow old.
Besides, multicam most certainly doesn't blend in in conifereus woods any more than a DCU does. Trying to create a universal camo is a goal that imo can't be reached, not without severely compromising the effectiveness of the camo pattern.
I agree completely, the idea of "universal" camouflage is a bit naive to say the least in terms of expecting it to work well in all environments encountered. German flectarn is a great pattern, but even that is still too common for my tastes. A few years ago, flectarn WAS difficult to acquire, but you can easily pick up sets pretty cheaply on eBay and elsewhere.
I love WWII Wehrmacht patterns in particular, at some point, I'm going to get a complete German army splinter camouflage BDU and boonie.
My ultimate dream would be to find a Waffen SS fall oak camouflage pattern BDU similar to the movie, Universal Soldier. That was the only major sci-fi movie I can recall offhand that still retained older German WWII patterns for futuristic uniforms.

Where I play flecktarn is pretty much the first piece of cloths you pick up when you start airsofting. You can get a complete uniform with either a parka or a field shirt with maybe 20 €, army surplus, so it's more than common. Still, once in a while someone shows up with a very nice setup to suit their own needs, so some hope still remains :)
I recently purchased woodland overalls and they kick ass. I never even knew they existed and I only paid 30 € for them. Woodland is pretty much what I roll with, but I'd love to put together a nice russian kit, certainly a lot of options to choose from from our eastern neighbour ;)
I gotta crash, GMT +2 = 1:45 am. Have a good one!

No worries, I completely agree that there are some airsofters that ruin it for the rest of us in terms of being "lumped" into the category so to speak.
Don't get me wrong, multicam sets are impressive in the sense that they are often quite detailed in terms of what type of gear is being carried, but it does get a bit repetitive after awhile. Once you've seen one complete Ghost Recon kit, you've seen them all.
With my kits, I try to search out unusual camouflage patterns and "niche" themed uniforms and gear. It'd be great to see more kits along this line, with more exotic material being used. Anyone else here use a German WWII steel helmet in skirmishes? :)
Some of my personal favorite camouflage patterns:
Classic jungle tigerstripe
Russian partizan camouflage
Chinese Tibet flectarn
Danish M84 camouflage
Pre-81 U.S. woodland ERDL camouflage
"Red Dawn" style Soviet camouflage paratrooper smocks
As for desert, I'd like to get a hold of some Kazakhstan camouflage BDUs, or otherwise, just tan uniforms.
Couldn't agree more with this, multicam has become a fashion craze. Sure, its works well in the right situations, but like any pattern it isn't so good in others. The design features of the combat set are great though, if only other patterns were available in that configuration.
I've started australian DPCU's & DPDU's for my next kits, pretty easy to get hold of, but not very common 'on the field' because its not 'cool' enough :|.

I just find it easier to stick to one loadout instead of getting several and multicam works well enough in general

You guys trash the ACUs all the time but they really arn't that bad. There has been tons of times that I am honestly impressed with how well the blue, gray, white blends into ****. Not only that but the ACUs do a very very good job of picking up the environment...eg: After about 2 days on mission the dust sticks on the ACUs and makes em work very well. During dawn and dusk in the urban environments over here they are amazing. Granted multicam does a really good job too but the ACU isn't as bad as everyone plays it out to be.

Yeah they work ok till the crotch decides to self destruct on you lol
Yeah they work ok till the crotch decides to self destruct on you lol
Not to mention the life of ACUs in theater is like 3-6 months. rofl
But yeah I hate both ACU and Multicam... MC - everyones got it so yeah it is a fashion craze, and ACU is just meh.... Atleast it's not digital TS like the Airforce. :|

Well they used lighter blue untill the mid 90's but they seem to wear a darker black, almost black now. Hence the light blue overalls and the G36C are an anachronism as far as I know. Also the helmet is not the right one. Cos it's only "kinda" who cares.
Btw the "weird desert cover" is actually BGS Sumpftarn, like Bernd said, so forget about the desert since "Sumpf" means swampland.
I have changed my coveralls to dark blue/ almost black... but that helmet is way to damn expensive they wear now (the one with the big headphone things. They don't make a replica either so yeah... i was just wearing the PASGT but might change to a MICH later. I've seen KSK use them

Nice Russian kit. Those helmets are notoriously difficult and expensive to find over here, as they usually average $400+ on eBay.

Try visiting a local airsoft store to narrow down your choices for your guns, or alternitivly go to a local site, rent one and maybe ask, politely, if you can have a look at other peoples airsoft guns. See which ones you find most comfortable to hold.

You're about 2 AEGs short of listing every primary arm on the market...
Ditch the black holster, get OD if you're kit is OD. Make the T-shirt longsleve atleast (crawling in a t-shirt sucks balls, trust me), or a BDU top would be better. Hiking boots are G2G...Stay away from the MP5K unless you're packing it as a side arm:cantbeli: or doing some 1337 CQBWTFBBQSAUCE ops. Backpack probably isn't neccesary as every game kit...a camelback with a small pouch on it (like the Ambush) should work better due to it's smaller size.
The Glocks from KWA are supposed to be frikkn awesome...I think the G19 is rather popular...check that out.

Thanks for the comments, gents.
I bought this from a seamstress who creates fantastic German uniforms for a company called On the March. In addition to this ACU uniform, I also have a woodland camouflage M42 tunic with insignia.
At the moment, I believe she might have a couple more of these ACU tunics in addition to some woodland and three color desert camouflage tunics. She also created the insignia for the ACU tunic above which I later sewed on.

Not a big deal really, it's just a patch design I've had created of a certain amicably disposed cat.
Make sure I get a PM too, so I can purchase one of those fine patches before stock goes out. I can tell already this will be a hilarious hot item. p-)

Just to throw a random question out there, for those who regularly use short 20rnd style armalite mags, what pouches do you regularly use if any other than normally used?
SAS 58 pattern 20rounder double pouches hahah p-)
IN all seriousness though, If I use 20 rounder I usually take some ALICE pouches and put a sock in the bottom of the pocket to raise mag higher.

Cheers for the spectregear link wayneard, the only other 'purpose built' pouch I've seen is the blackwater gear double pistol mag pouch which can double as a single 20 round mag pouch. I guess I'll just pop some padding into the bottom of a standard pouch.
Oh & if you happen to find any spare 58patt SAS pouches lying round Pvtvince chuck a couple my way. I actually ended up getting a few spare 58 patt waterbottle pouches and adding press studs and a finger loop for quick opening as I found they fitted my FN FAL & M14 mags perfectly & would carry more than an ammo pouch, I love them & still regularly use my 58 patt.

Great kit, I've gradually begun to appreciate Polish camouflage a bit more after seeing these recent posts. It's fairly difficult to acquire here in the states though.
As for me, I'm working on getting a Serbian army kit together which will feature:
- Serbian Army woodland camouflage coverall, circa 90s (looks somewhat like tiger stripe with more yellow)
- Serbian kevlar helmet (might give it a camouflage job)
- Russian M32 tactical vest
- VFC AKS74U
- Standard lace up combat boots
- Probably some knee pads
I'll get some pics up in the next few weeks as this stuff trickles in.

Good news guys: patches just shipped, so with any luck, I'm guessing they will be here 1-2 weeks.
About the site: I'm going to have it probably set up while these patches are still in transit (depending on how fast they arrive). At that point, I may start taking pre-orders.
By the way, the price for a single patch is $8.40 + shipping (which should be pretty cheap regardless).

It's not a copy of any real vest...it's a straight Chinese made/designed "plate carrier" that relies almost exclusively on velcro to hold it together:cantbeli: It's, in my opinion, a POS (I have one and used it for about a year, so I'd know). It's a huge waste of $50 when TT MAVs cost as much (and rock the house).

Umm i would have to call that an "interesting" technique at best. For one that would take a considerable amount of practice to be able to replicate in the real world...how many situations are you going to find yourself in trying to disarm someone without at least one other person covering you... And as Hauser stated just how accurate will your fire be while you have the weapon slung across a subject who while no doubt be doing his best to get the hell away when he cant see sh!t and then hears rifle fire 6 inches from his ear... For my money i would feel alot safe keeping him at gunpoint till he drops his weapon and steps away from it, then just use more traditional methods of search and apprehension.

Are you currently in the 2nd Infantry Division?
Lets see I'm going to pick apart this photo.
#1 Your mustache is not within US Army Regulation 670-1 As it extends past the corners of your mouth.
The face will be clean-shaven, except that mustaches are permitted. If a mustache is worn, it will be kept neatly trimmed, tapered, and tidy and will not present a chopped-off appearance. No portion of the mustache will cover the upper lip line or extend sideways beyond a vertical line drawn upward from the corner of the mouth. Handlebar mustaches, goatees, and beards are not authorized. If appropriate medical authority prescribes beard growth, the length required for medical treatment will also be specified.#2 You are wearing SGT (E-5) rank along with 2nd ID patch.
#3 How your IBA (OTV) is set up makes me think you ARE an airsofter and not the real deal.
#4 I recommend removing all patches unless if you have previously earned them.
#5 You can easily portray a US soldier WITHOUT the uses of patches and insignia. The uniforms, helmets, protection is more than enough.
#6 If you are the real deal I apologize, but right now I'm doubting you are.

MORF-PL, amazing pics! Black kits are always impressive.
I'm new to the forum (although I've been browsing for long on guest-status) and would like to share some airsoft pictures with you. We have great airsoft community here in Finland, but I prefer participating on small games with friend-based teams and more relaxing atmosphere. Mission-written scenarios are another topic and it is great to play in bigger events every once in a while. They're quite rare here however.
Our team outfit is really not based on any certain force or unit, we gather black kit so it looks nice and doesn't break the theme, including tactical gear of elite troopers and the attitude of SWAT operatives. Equipment and outfit are not necessarily chosen by their effectivity instead we prefer kit which gives a certain feeling of professionality on waging close-quarter war and launching furious assaults. In our team it's not about powerplaying, seeking for magnificent atmosphere and experiencing the role of being rock-hard warrior is the thing.
This is me (left) and teammate sneaking on the threshold of cqb-gaming site in snowy conditions. I had to take my M4 repaired and played with borrowed MP5.
http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/66/sikala001tc9.png
This one is from Winters first photoshoot to get pics to our website. I love the expressions on our faces, teammate on left is like "Don't do it" and I'm "What are we waiting for, are we going or what?" Just posing anyways.
http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/1182/70546338sj9.jpg
Current set without commando hood, weapon is MP5K which I use as a backup now and then. Small, rapid firing 'Kurz' is handy especially when playing with sniper as a main weapon. The icon is the Bladeserpent-logo of our team Daemonstration. http://daemonstration.page.tl
http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/4203/qiwiiv9.png
This pic is old one, I'm still wearing my old vest. New teammate had just started airsoft hobby and build an assault shield for us to use in tough situations. ;) It was one sweaty day, sun shining in the cloudless sky but we had to represent the black colour and attitude!
http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/1041/59355790dk6.jpg
I also started gathering US desert gear this summer. Again it is not really based on any unit, I have thought of developing it to the look of Special Forces later. The black gear would change into tan/CB and stuff. I need to think about it.
I hope it is permitted to post pictures including national insignia such as the flag badges? Please inform me if it is also disapproved.
http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/172/shineav8.pnghttp://img529.imageshack.us/img529/5996/summerfall010wf6.jpg
I shortly gathered a CQB-set to Sci-fi Scenario Trident Incident: Renegade Colonies. I took off the protective lenses of the mask and replaced them with net commonly used in airsoft masks. I think it looks pretty cool.

Thank you BillySing, it's great to have comments! It's 7am here and your feedback already made my day. The weapon is APS Type 96 by Maruzen, which specializes in airsoft sniper replicas. I'm happy with the scope as well. :)
In all seriousness, how powerful is that thing? How far does it reach? I hear most of them are not much chop past 50m. Does the bolt actually function? She accurate?
Having an airsoft sniper practically bases on updating the rifle from the standard status into more powerful and accurate level. This rifle is about 99 m/s (312 fps) when taken out of the box. On my current setup of exchanged spring and inner barrel it is something around 125 m/s.With right adjustments it is just about perfect for my taste, potentially capable rifle without getting too expensive. Accuracy is enough for airsoft games. Here's a picture of test shots, target was the lightpole. It was challenging in the beginning, but turned out to be a completely possible shot. http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/3802/lightpolegk5.png
Most important aspect of tuning an airsoft weapon this way is to change the standard parts to more tougher ones so they can take the pressure and strenght of the more powerful spring. As the power of the gun grows, you need to move to heavier ball bullets which can really be a pain in the ass to get. The most powerful sniper weapons in the airsoft games here in Finland tend to be something around 170 m/s but aren't always allowed and there are many restrictions in scenarios and especially CQB-environment. This kind of weapon of course needs a mature and responsible user.
And I must say that is the meanest looking air rifle I've ever seen......
Thanks, she definately has the looks. ;)
Cheers,
-Frenzy

I was just copying the loadout of the spetznaz player models in COD4 and not real life. It's a total hollywood impression in accuracy, but I have seen them still using the GP-5 at ROST arms demonstrations, probably due to the easier changing of the filters over the PBF. In the US Army were using the internal filters like the PBF in our old M17 masks, but we realized it would be alot cooler and more useful to be able to change the filter without having to take the mask off, so we opted for the M40, which uses an external filter. I would hope the Russians would think the same. The GP-5 is actually not all that bad for its simplicity. If they gave you the option to put the filter on your non-firing side like the M40, you couldn't ask for much more. In the center like the GP-5, it gets in the way. The old M17s were a b*tch to fire with too. You had to cant the M16 to the side gangsta style to look through the sights with those fat internal filters.

Quit playing with toys, and Join the Military! The Army reserve & N.G. is so hard up they will take any one.
Leave the air softers alone you **** puncher, we have them contained in here for a reason.

We could have some sort of hybrid here, without Hellfish I'm not sure we can stop the outbreak.
