You should probably adjust the rig so that its not "up in your face" as it is now.
I like it, its simple.
Can you draw your sidearm quickly with the holster on your chest? Having to push the button down while drawing your sidearm should be "tricky."
Hope you have fun during the OP.
DUCKIE

Yeah I had problems so I folded down the bib for a more comfortable and snug fit and I moved the holster to my right side on my duty belt. I want to get it finished up and out of the way before the Op but a motorcycle and rifle are kinda getting in the way of that but I have a couple months to finish it up. Thanks for the comments.

I have my Serpa attached to the front of my CIRAS and i have no problem having a quick draw, mine is a bit lower and that works perfect for me.
I think it looks a bit high to get a good and quick draw on the photo

My answer to mods asking for some simple kit ;)
It's loosely based on SAS beltkit from the 80's, I used some US pouches even though I only have a small ahndful of pics in wich they have those.
The PLCE buckle came from my PLCE belt when I replaced it for a roll pin one, works fine and I have no plans of changing it.
One of my fav kit as I can carry a buttload of stuff and is sure different from MOLLE
so there is:
1x SAS 30rounds ammo pouch
1x basic left P58 ammo pouch (used ofr a small first aid kit)
2x P58 water bottle pouches used as util
1x P44 water bottle pouch
1x ALICE canteen pouch
1x ALICE ammo pouch

Swede, it does suck a little more to get shot, but hey I'll take a little extra pain to help me keep cooler and hopefully dehydrate at a slower rate.
Teocrazia, the chest rig is a TAG molle chest rig which is a close copy of Eagle's RRV but the TAG cant take a plate and has a few small differences with the buckles and straps. However I dont care about those little things and its sooooo comfortable. Also the camelbak is 550'd onto the shoulder straps and clipped onto my duty belt.
Glad I was able to make some people laugh, I always wanted to do a little ode to RTT CQB Man, but his video has been removed by the user :'(

There should be a chrono at organized games, you can find out there. Only FPS though, not ROF.

A bigger battery won't give more FPS, it will only wind the motor faster. The only way to increase the FPS is by changing the spring or having some tricks p-)

with spring would that be ?!
but now I still have the same question, will my 8cell AAA battery fit in a VFC Battery case?
I'm not sure about your battery question, but a spring will help you with your FPS.
If your AEG comes standard with a 100 spring, then get a 120, it will increase the FPS but not substantial. If you play at places that allow a certain limit, be careful with what you upgrade, it may render your gun unable to be used because of it breaking rules or what not. I know a lot of places have an FPS limit.
Vince S
02-18-2008, 09:13 PM
typically an MS120 psring will give you roughly 400FPS with metal bushing
Of course, you'll get more if you put bearing spring guide, piston head etc etc
But then again my friend heavily modified his stock AK-47 piston and got 330 with an MS90...
There's a whole lot of upgrade that won't cost you a penny and will increase both your FPS and ROF. The goal is not only to have high FPS but to keep it consistant. (my last chrony with M16A1 was 350.1 350.4 350.3)

What Kaptein said:
ROF -- Rate of Fare

Agreed. But a bigger battery won't have any trouble winding the motor even with stronger springs.

Yes, i've heard about FTP limits. And I'm not only looking for a higher FTP number, what I also want is a nice accurate shot on the longer range...
Do you also get a better accurate, with a higher FTP ?
Sand Man
02-19-2008, 05:13 AM
File Transfer Protocol?
You mean FPS (Feet per Second), and IMO higher FPS does not equate to better accuracy.
Higher FPS only means you can engage targets farther out while accuracy means you can actually hit a target.
Flea NL
02-19-2008, 06:03 AM
pff, yeah sorry.. FPS.. not FTP... lol
so what do I have to change in my AEG to get a better accuracy on "long range" targets ?
Sand Man
02-19-2008, 07:19 AM
pff, yeah sorry.. FPS.. not FTP... lol
so what do I have to change in my AEG to get a better accuracy on "long range" targets ?
Well, if you want to have longer reach you can replace your existing spring with a stronger one (which may also require bigger batteries). And then, you would also need a longer and tighter inner barrel (which will also require a new cylinder whose length is proportionate to your new barrel's length).
Then there's the issue of compression. Depending on what brand your M4 RIS is -- you may need ported piston heads, air seal nozzle, a more snug O-ring, spring guides with bearing to relieve the twisting on springs during compressions, type-1 or -2 cylinder, etc., etc.
That's just what I can come up right now. Most good brands have these sorted out already and you may only need a stronger spring, but really depends more on what's inside your gear box.
For example, you can't put in a stronger spring in there unless you have metal bushings already.
My advise is let someone who knows about this stuff have a look at your AEG.
if you have a metal body on your M4, a good one-piece hop unit, hard hop rubber and a tightbore barrel will help you achieve better accuracy at the far end.
The quality of the bb's you use also have a big effect. A perfect sphere will be more stable than a slightly-off shape. Since I switched from Excell to Tokyo Marui or Blaster bb's I've seen a significant improvement in accuracy. With Excell bb's I would get weird stray shots almost 1 in 3 (this aside from bb's breaking in half inside the magazines and jams). Now I rarely get those unexplainable stray shots, hop jams or magazine jams have yet to happen.

PS: Slight rant on the Canon Powershot A560. This thing is absolutely useless. Unless your using the flash or in a light box environment its utter crap. Looking for a newer low end camera the Sony W55 is a much better buy for the same price. If you can spend the extra $50 and spring for the W80 or the Canon A620, or the SD750. Would have used my sony alpha, but the things a beast and just too heavy to use for simple myspace style mirror pics.

The "problem" is, I actually LOST about 35lbs / 17kg in weight ( coming from 240lbs /108kg ) in about 6 months ! with the help of a quite succesfull diet. p-) I allready had to order a BDU in a smaller size... But It is probably still a bit to big. ( I came from an XL bdu , to a L-size now). But going to a size M would be to thight. ( for now)
And yes Shakes, that picture was taken in the beginning of the day. I quickly noticed everything hanging to loose ( strange feeling actually :p ), so during that day I have been working continuosly on getting it to fit again :)
But is still needs work though ...

That seems to be very common. Get that rig as high up on your thigh as possible w/o interfering with your body armor. It will speed in your transitions and stop your handgun from moving all over the place when you move.

You should be able to cup the bottom of your thigh rig with your hand without bending/leaning over. That will increase the efficiency of your draw stroke out of the holster.

And realistic is that a soldier uses his equipment the best he can do and not everbody earns enough to support a family, pay for other hobbies and than buy a real steel holster....

Your point being? If you start doing something, do it properly, all the way. Not everything have to be ready in on instance. Collect, think, and when your set is really in somewhat good shape, then you can post them as a kit. Well, at least this is my opinion.
And there is this: if you post your loadout, you should realise that you are going to get comments, and not all of them is good. So if you can't live with negative comments, don't post your loadouts.
And yes, I have played with Mick0 here in Finland, so I know him allright.
Mick0
03-13-2008, 10:00 AM
Well lets not start arguing over the internet. It's not wise. :) Comments and suggestions are always welcome. IMO It's the only way to make my sets to look much better. You guys have given me some good tips and I try to do them to improve my loadout.
When it comes to me and Windi.... Well our ideas of skirmishing/making loadouts never meet. I'm on low budget (Yeah, I'm a student and soon moving out of our apartment) so I prefer used stuff. Windi likes to order all of him stuff from OPT/Triad etc and for him, money isn't the problem. IMO Windi is also a bit arrogant, so try to ignore it. rofl

Sorry to hear that you are atm unemployed. Try to get job and you might someday got some propper sets to show up. :) What do you mean with right items? My Safariland is correct for the 90's period. There's nothing wrong with it. Or is there? I would only complane about the gun and rappeling stuff. Those are wrong and I know it too. Altought, rappeling stuff is right, but the maker (Peltz) is wrong.

There's nothing funny about the flag upside down. Please kit yourselves out as something else if you can't resemble a US servicemember in a respectable manner.
Marines don't wear it on our sleeves, so if anyone in the Army can back me up; I'm pretty sure it only goes on your right sleeve with the stars to the front.

You are correct. Usually the flag only goes on the right arm but on occassion and depending on mission/job at the moment, it will also go on the left but always the stars going forward. The flag is never meant to look like it is going backwards.

Well your statement isn't waterproof to be correct. And I understand why, since what's been discussed here is very hard to define. In the end it's about the hand-eye collaboration and something you've learned to prefer from since you were a kid. I haven't studied this, but as it must(?) have something to do with genetics I also know in some families the children are told to use their right hand to do certain things, like drawing pictures. And needless to say, when you use your right hand your'e actually training the whole right side of your body as far as coordination goes.
You can learn to become ambidextrous, at least to some extent. Best done when you're a few years old.

My Primary Platform is Armalite. A while back when I picked up an AK I found some 5.56 pouches like that ones I have but the strap on the front of them have been modified, they where longer so you could lock in AK magazines just like M4 magazines. If you Put an M4 Mag in them, they would bounce around, so I just labeled them 7.62 and 5.56 to make sure I had grabbed the right pouch.

Maybe I just misread but you labeled them because you couldn't tell the difference from an M4 pouch and an AK pouch?

No, I didnt describe it well enough, there M4 Pouches that have been modded to fit AK Magazines, Not AK pouches. I wrote 7.62 on them. So I dont get the M4 Pouches mixed up with my M4 Ak pouches. I'm a cheap bastard and I didnt want invest in pouches for another Platform. Hope this helps

I ditched my GSG-9 Gear and got a US Special Forces Loadout. My team decided upon a CWU/27P Flightsuit... Alot of SF use it like SEALS, Force Recon and what not.
I guess it looks like alot of different things, but everyone else calls it a SEALs loadout... I guess more of VBSS type lol.
Consists of:
MICH Helmet
Guarder Goggles
MOLLE plate carrier + 4x m4 pouches, 4x pistol mag, Hydration 2x Compartment Pack.. etc.
CWU/27P Nomex Flightsuit
Nomex Flight Gloves
Blackhawk Drop leg hard shell holster
Drop Leg 3x mag carrier
Knee Pads

Other:

I want/need to buy another dump pouch to fit all the mags, the current one can fit them all but I cant just throw them in. They have to be guided in, which I do not have time to do in "combat." I also need a new lens for the Bolle goggles, for the one now used is scratched up. I will hopefully buy a set of knee pads, boots, lens, and a Glock for the holster soon. I actually don't have a pair of boots right now, only because I haven't found any that I like.
The holster and M3 light was recently given to me by a friend so I don't yet have a sidearm for it. However, the holster is for a Glock 20/21 and I haven't been able to find any in Airsoft GBB's so I'll just have to settle with anything smaller, like the 17.

Well, I've always like the SEAL kits, but my gear isn't really that correct. I mainly got what I liked and that was pretty much SEAL-ish.
I actually planed it to be a SEAL impression that could be kind of converted into a Recon Marine impression or something else. However, I don't worry about it not being 100% correct.

It could be a Team rank, keep in mind. People posting pictures if wearing a rank should verify that they are or were that rank or the rank is for there Team. Other wise that's pretty dishonorable to some people.
Team rank is not an excuse.

Half of the stuff posted is based on other people commenting on people pointing out ranks and patches. Point it out, OK, but why does it have to create a page long discussion about it every single time. These threads are filling up with speculation whether or not this and that tab is allowed to be worn or not.
Point it out and move on. The user or the mods will surely act as they see fit.

Some would argue that you should honor your families service (past and present) through quiet support or by enlisting yourself but not by waltzing around wearing a uniform with rank on it that they earned but you did not.
Just my opinion...and yes I have earned more rank than that. Best wishes for your sisters deployments.

Heyho all,
thought I could post some pics of the ACU kit I've been building since Christmas. It has been set ready for playing a while ago and I have used it couple of times in the weekend games. I think the camouflage is as good as any in the cqb environment and different parts of the gear work pretty good as an entirety. Almost everything on the kit are replicas as I went on building nice airsoft-gear based on my preference- It didn't need to reflect any existing unit and I don't need professional gear for weekend gaming sessions.
I also got an inspiration to paint my M733 as I browsed the magnificent airsoft- and realsteel weapons threads on mp.net. The paintjob isn't completed though, the store that sells spraycans I'm using are three goddamn weeks late to deliver the new darker contrast colour of the rifles camo scheme. The first spray I bought had it's best before-date on 1996... I've visited the store twice already, without results, apparently need to wait for another week.

Last week we had our Black gear as we went playing as a team. I need to get a BDU or ACU in black, my current 'uniform' is pain in the ass to wear.
That's all for now!
Cheers,

I like it a lot. I told Twombles no tlong ago however, if you're small, (under 5'8") it gets slightly restricting. Its a bit difficult to bring you arms closer to the middle of your body. Its not that bad, but I wouldn't recomend wearing a Paca underneath because that would seriously make it hard to move.

Well if you are going to Berget in sweden maybe you will get a chance to feel the beuty ;) :P
Nice job. I got the same CA M41 modified to that AG3. Except it's currently broken and I have it under repair and being upgraded.
I'd love to come to Berget, but it's a lot of hassle for me. Replicas are stashed in the UK, whilst I live in NL. I'd have to go to the UK first, then fly over from there...

Do you have an old pic where you were still using it?

This is the only pic I have, but this was taken before I changed the stock to the collapsible one. (Taken Oct 2007)

I got the chestrig from Combatkit... http://www.combatkit.net/products.php?g=20&p=32 (Norwegian Camo G3 model) I almost felt Canadian ordering from there because of the high taxes + shipping + conversion. I got raped. They fixed the shipping costs lately though, so I'm happier. The uniform is Finnish (obviously) and got it from another member here several years ago.

When I come on here in tech class I have to turn my computer away from the rest of the kids. One kid finds me on here, I am screwed. But when they ask why I do it, I tell them the glare (Legit excuse, I am right next to a window) is too harsh. If they ever caught me doing anything with this hobby I would land in the office real quick. Especially after a 5 year old made a bomb threat to our school.

text from the owner of that replica
"Here's one of my best home-made projects of Ak derived. After I broke a stock of an AK47-S, I've had an idea make something different, something special, ok let's make an home-made Galil. After 3 weeks of work my project is done. And now here comes the results.
I have some pics of construction phase:
1st phase build the pieces, wood hand-guard, some pipes for stock, nother pipe for gas block ejector, and lots of other little things."

Gotta agree with you man. I can't stand seeing people who spend more money on their gear then their weapons.
Me, I play in my cammies, boots, and a nice lil tac vest i picked up for $40. Well except when I play in issued gear.
