not really the stock is the same size as a closed m4 stock so its really good for cqb and holds a big ass battery. plus i havent used it in cqb yet mainly when my team mate brings his jeep and we drive that for the game

Airsoft drivebys...gotta love 'em.
When we did an urban scenario once, me and another team member stood on the running boards and held onto the cargo rack of a toyota sienna minivan for driveby combat/insertion.

lol sounds fun. we do some blackwater crap since thats the teams new hot thing lol. the head of the team thinks its a great team setup. so we did a capture the flag kinda game with a person kinda like a vip thing. but our rule is windows up and no fireing from the jeep. only when it stops and the engine is off lol. the majority of our team is either military or ex military so its safe

How often does your team practice? My team's "practices" usually happen about 20 mins before the match, zeroing sights, setting hop-ups, and just making sure we can all move with all our kit on roflrofl

hi airman,
yes its the g&p M.R.E. with the miss spelled markings :bash: Since a couple of Classic Army AEGs it is my second g&p m4. i had the special operations before. Both are fantastic AEGs the out of box performance is really nice. the qualitity is simply awesome. and the ris doesnt turn or wobble. the only thing i would change is the hopup rubber then its nearly perfect. i just can recommend this AEG to you ;-)

The RCP is made by tactical option (here in the philippines) a bit pricy. uniforms here cost around 10-25 USD (set already) we have 2nd hand military surplus shops also and they sell cheap gears and stuff. you can have a full kit for less than 50 USD.
I will take photos of them. :) thanks

Heyho all,
got a few pictures on the other day which I'd like to share with you. Both of the kits are still work in progress, I still need a lot of stuff, couple of grenade pouces, nvg-mount for the helmet and a RAID modification for the DCU. The weapons are as well a bit improvised just for the photoshoot as my friend didn't have an appropriate replica firearm for the pics so I borrowed my another M4 for him. Tried to add small details here and there, some work better than others. Although the loadouts are not completed I think the background and atmosphere adds to the look of the pictures.
I'm the one with RIS M4. Comments appreciated. :)

Nice desert setup. Where'd you get the silencer for your M4?
I bought the rifle second hand and the silencer came along, it's the PFI Smoke cap. Redwolf has it but the silencer is currently out of stock. I've never used it in gameplay or even test fired through it to experience the smoke effect so I have nothing to say about it's performance. Looks pretty good in pictures however and it's nice to have something extra to add to your blaster occasionally. ;)

It's pretty nice place just a relatively short drive away, known here as the Sand pits. It has hills, rock formations, small woods and dunes with various altitudes. We have held a weekend skirmish on the location twice but I think it serves better as location for photoshoots.
Steelersfan:
The backpacks are made by Pantac (former Phantom) and I think the colour shade is very good for replicating the Eagle MJK. These can also be bought from RedWolf along with other Pantac products and come with Hydration pouch.

Nice photos :) As to your kit - by the first glance I see two mistakes in the setup. First one is your knife - somehow I doubt you're able to take it out by yourself not to mention putting it back in place. Second thing is your sidearm which is in the far left pouch, am I right? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it kinda hard to draw it?
Still photos look great :)

Thanks for the comment. You're kinda right on those, the setup could be more practical. Drawing the knife doesn't actually cause any problem at all, it comes out kinda naturally, but I sure cannot put it away without placing the rifle aside or asking teammate to do it. Also the knife's location in the modular belt might be the only one possible, on different spot the pouches of the CIRAS get in the way. It's a prop however and doesn't need to be drawn and reholstered all the time.
About the pistol, yeah an actual holster would be great. IRL it is sometimes stored in a mag pouch but a proper holster would be far more effective. I've thought about Safariland or SERPA models, do you happen to know if these could be attached to MOLLE-belt? I have a cheap nylon drop-leg holster but I thought it would be better not to ruin the kit with dull detail like that. :)
Thanks everyone!

Frenzy, Safarilands can. You just have to adjust the little strap on the belt strap. For SERPAs, it depends on the size of the belt. If the paddle won't work, you can get a S.T.R.I.K.E. Clip. (http://www.patriotoutfitters.com/scripts/z.exe/sbproc?action=showproduct&productid=4777) And then you just put that on the belt. Should work like a charm
Drako

Mag pouch isn't a bad holster (i use one myself) just in my opinion it's simply too far on the back to be reached easily. Looking on your config I think placing a safariland on the belt would be a good solution. As to the knife - try placing it between front mag pouches and the medic pouch, I guess you have some free space in there.
Arsenic
10-21-2008, 09:12 AM
You could try something like this and add a holster to it since its a MOLLE panel. This would take care of the problem of wearing your knife on your back. You could order a SERPA holster with the STRIKE clip and have the option of wearing it on your leg or on the vest itself.

Could be a training knife (rubber) for th humiliating knife kill ;)

10-21-2008, 11:23 PM
Knives can come in handy in airsoft, not THAT often though. I need to get one as there are mountain lions around this very bushy, rugged site where I sometimes play. I heard some things in the bushes 3 times when I was walking to my car, the parking lot is less then a mile away but its some distance at least. I heard that the things weren't small, not huge, maybe like a medium sized dog.
I'd like to have a last resort weapon if a dog or mountain lion attacks me, I don't trust my AEG would do the job if it was trying to bite my neck, I'd rather have a knife to really hurt it and because of such a close encounter.
IDK, what he uses his for but it sure looks cool!

Not sure if they make a rubber SOG Seal pup knife. Would be kinda cool to have though.
I usually carry a Kabar Tanto with me when I play unless the field rules prohibit it. Comes in handy every now and then depending on the amount of brush in the area. Also adds to the CDI factor.

Please fix your beret. It looks like a pile of smashed a-holes, to use an eloquent analogy. I know it's an US Army uniform, but that is a US Army beret. I'd expect it to look like that if you weren't currently serving, but come on.

Sorry, the picture is from about two years ago, before I joined. The most recent one I had, and the beret was the only head gear I had that went with the rest of the look. trust, now its been fixed.

Hello all, I'm new here. Names Mike, and I've been in the Airsoft scene for about 7 years. I have no military background personally to speak of, though I come from a military family (likely why I do what I do). I highly respect and admire those who put their lives on the line for their country, and in no way wish to portray what I do as in any way equal to what they sacrifice to wear their uniform.
I hope that in my stay here I can give a good name to those who play Airsoft, as should be the duty of any self respecting participator in any sport. That being said, I'm off to lighter hearted things (for the time being at least).
Few things, before I get yelled at - I am fully aware that I am wearing knock-off MARPAT, but I honestly have no problem with it seeing as how it works well in the environment that I play. Secondly, the black vest/ boots bothers me - bother any of you? I corrected the problem tonight by ordering a new tan vest that resembles a marine SPC with a full loadout of MOLLE pouches, a MARPAT TRU (ACU type uniform but in the Marine digital Pattern) and some shiney new bolle goggles.
In case your wondering, I'm holding a VFC SCAR-L with a ACOG 4x32 optical sight and a mock suppressor.
Thanks for reading,
-Mike

i have had a pair of the same bdus in woodland for some time now and see nothing rong with them for airsoft that is
I own for a time the first truspec marpat (without all that velcro!!), the colour gone after a couple of washing and the pattern seems to be a little fake.
Now, I have a multicam and a woodland made by truspec and they are perfect.

out of curiosity, did you dry the tru-spec marpat? That stuff fades instantly if you throw it in the drier with just medium heat. Dunno whats up with that, perhaps its the dye they use. I'm washing my tru-spec with "all that velcro" (which actually is just the 2 sleeves) then drying it on low heat for 5 minutes. After that, i allow it to air dry, I haven't yet noticed any sort of fade in the pattern.
I could be missing something though, I'm no expert on which brand is best. Someone pmed me saying "Tru-spec = EPIC FAIL" so I could still be missing something.
*EDIT* The jacket you see me wearing in the pictures I posted is their newest stuff that met spec, in otherwords it doesn't fade and discolor like their older marpat. Found this out first hand - I ordered a top and bottom of their new stuff and found that the pants were too big around the waste. Having no way to return the pants, I decided to drive down to my local military surplus store and I picked up some of TRU-SPEC's older Marpat pants for a replacement.
At first, I noticed there was a small difference in the way the fabric was made. Second, the dye seemed a darker shade than the stuff I ordered. Upon inspection of the inner side, I found that the dye had not completely penetrated the fabric in some spots. I should have payed more attention to this in the first place.
When I pulled them out of the washing machine just now, I noticed that they faded and there are marks where the pattern has been "chipped" away. The new stuff I ordered still looks great with absolutely no fade to it. Looks like im going to have to order another pair a flippen pants, god what the heck, 80$ wasted on the 2 other crap pairs.

Sorry, I'm explained bad.
First of all, Tru-spec is not an epic fail. It's a good brand of bdu. As I write up, i own some Bdu and they are pretty great.
The old style marpat (without velcro sleeves), anyway, as some problem.
I notice that in all the marpat I see on the field here.

Babywipes, I hadn't thought of that. Thanks for the tip. p-)
I actually have no idea what kind of chest rig it is.. I found it on eBay, and it has no tags on it.

Get wipes that can be found in a smaller compact bag so you're not carrying an extra toilet on your back.

It is. It's the $30 Clone Wars voice changer from Wal-Mart. Bit of repainting, and it worked great. A friend blasted it full auto, and the only damage was the blue paint on the fore head was chipped.
