@ Kravensas:
your kit looks fine, it's just a combination of things that make it look awkward. the most notable is the color of the PCU. i don't know if OTTE gave you a choice of what color you reviewed, but they should consider changing it to at least a darker shade. i understand the photo was taken with the camera's flash, but Mil-Spec clothing should be more muted than that in bright light.

here is the jacket in daylight
http://www.airsoftcommunity.info/images/stories/kraven/ottegear-alpine/ottegear%203.jpg
The color is called "Alpha Green", similar to the ORC PCU one.
And it doesn't matter for 3 reason:
- I'm testing the capability of the clothes (warm, comfort, cut resistence)
- The game is a nocturnal one
- The stores (an italian store, not the OTTE) give me that, so i have to use that.
And it works very fine.
I called "gay" the TAD gear for sarcasm, just because here the most used word is "gay".
Ah, just to know, the Replica PCU is pure Crap.
If something cost 3 times less the original, we have to wonder why.
A friend of mine take one from HK. Good materials, bad finiture. Most of the thread give up at the second time he use it.
Some stuff have good replica counterpart, other not.

We did that once. It was a hill and everyone but me and a couple guys were still in on our team. So I yelled it and ran up. My entire body got pelted pretty bad. But it was fun.

Sure that is M98? M98 doesn't have an vertical insignia flap (shoulder flaps only). But since it's modified, it might be (nice pockets!).
For woodland, most people try to avoid the desert boots, as they would drain a lake if they had a chance (Meindls atleast). They do look better than black boots, even though the majority would probably use black (waterproof = GOOD).
Also, for the AG3, black furniture is really rare, only seen 1 pistol grip and 1 stock. As for RIS, the correct one is made by Brugger & Thomet ($$$).
http://www.brugger-thomet.ch/en/manufacturing/mountingsystems/opticalmounts.php?pid=573 (low mount)
http://www.brugger-thomet.ch/en/manufacturing/handguards/rifle.php?pid=336 (handguard, not sure if it's the correct one)
Got any headgear? If you don't want to spend a lot of bucks, just get a khaki cap.
But god damn, nice job getting all that stuff! Probably the best non-Nordic Norwegian gear I've seen!

It´s really M98. If I have bought it, it has been modified.
And headgear, I have black cap, but when I will get TMBN patch i tan colour, I will buy tan cap and fix this patch on it.
Black furniture is provisional, I have bought with it. When I will complete equipment, I will modifi my gun.:)

As for the weapon, just paint it, or you could try to get some RS parts for it (collapsible stock?)
korenml
05-02-2009, 09:41 AM
Yeah. I would like buy RS collapsible stock, but it´s very difficult for me. Because a lot of people don´t want send item outside the Norway. First is gear and after I will modifi weapon. I´m only student and I haven´t a lot of money, that´s why complete gear is run to long way.:| Now I would like buy item from finn.no, but I haven´t anyone who buy it for me. It´s next reason, that I have only few norwegian gear. :-( And next comment about my equipment we can discuss via PM. ;-) I don´t want fill this thread.

The stock on the G3 looks large and cumbersome. Still a great looking wep. Especially with rails.

It is difficult to put a collapsible stock on it, and then keep it with the rail system, because then there is no room for the battery. Unless if you buy the SG1 which is already wired to the front I think. I'm going to be trying a simple variant when I get home to see if a thin lipo will fit in the rail because I usually just use a G3 or my Systema M4.

Wouldn't a PEQ box or a battery bag fix the problem? (PEQ on the front, or battery bag on the butt stock)

For the PEQ to work it would have to be wired to the front. But all of the G3s I have are wired to the back because the butt stock houses the battery. If you change the butt stock to the collapsible one, it would 100% have to be wired to the front as a battery bag on a collapsible stock won't work very well. With a G3 already having the rail handguard, it will suck to put on a PEQ because it is already front heavy even after using a battery in the full stock.

Well to be perfectly fair I'm about 5'10" (hardly hobbit stature!) and the helmet weighs about 5lbs.
Given that I was running about all day with it on (and for a good part with the visor too which adds another pound), I've got a decent reason for looking like I have no neck! The damn think must have compressed under the weight!

I thought that there is a suggested time of wearing, if i remember correctly 6 hours. And the enviroment is kinda strange for this type of helmet :)

I order nearly all of my kit from Dmitry at Soviet-Propaganda. He can get nearly anything from manufacturers like SPOSN, Splav, ANA, and NPO-SM.
If you want something, PM him on RA or email him. His website only shows a fraction of his inventory and you'd miss out on his awesome customer service. He's definitely my retailer of choice p-)
And expect to pay for shipping if you're buying from abroad. Red Soldier doesn't seem to be stocking like they used to so you'll probably need to order from across the Atlantic.

here the same uniform, different vest and head gear. This last picture was taken under very hot weather circunstances, so I decided to use the black vest, its ligher and works fine with the Marpat camouflage. The Cirras tan version is very heavy.

Even when they were working they were a little shady. Orders took a while to be fulfilled and at the end they weren't even completing them.
For Soviet-Propaganda, remember not everything is listed on his page. Check his section in the Red-Alliance retailer section to get a better idea of his inventory. You can also email or private message and speak with him personally. He's still the best retailer in my opinion :)

simply because we had to select one of them..it could be A Coy or B Coy the same, but we have read at that time that exactly C Coy had an airborne specialization... Some of us like this and are planning to make at least to 3 parachute jumps...Anyway I don't have better explanations :)

Theres a big difference between playing a game of airsoft and taking part in a historical reenactment, despite what a number of airsofters here would argue. There is zero need to wear cap badges and rank on your airsoft kit. Do as I have in the past (when I used to play) and where a plain (not maroon or tan, etc) beret with no cap badge at all.

The straps make it difficult, but it is do able. With them out of the way and tucked under the pommel, the knife is relatively easy to draw. Everybody that sees it asks that question, but trust me, it works just fine.

Intentionally so. If I ever want/need to draw the knife, I won't be needing my rifle or my pistol. If either of those are viable, I probably won't be using my knife.

If I am needing to cut something small, like a MRE packet or some 550, I'd use my Gerber multi-tool. The big knife on the back is just for, as you said, looks, or big projects that I'd set my weapon down for anyway.

Well, just watched the movie, so lets see what I'll need:
Motorcycle-style jacket, black
Crye Combat pants, black
random mag, and 40mm pouches, black
red cloth around the left arm
Weapons: M203, M4, M26, USP
Time to add my gay ass to this thread now. My finished Norwegian kit. (Don't mind the helmet, it is only for the NVGs) Otherwise a Norwegian helmet is used. The kit is based off of nothing, as I rather it that way. Sorry for crappy pics, I haven't been able to field it yet. (Or get it dirty)

That ought to do the trick, UHF or VHF though?
Hey Red, question for ya, would you know of a place to get Saber and programmation here in our lovely country?
Ebay to get the radio. Programming is tricky though. They can't be programmed with a newer computers, it'll brick the radio, you need a slow old computer to program it. The software isn't easy to come by either, and it depends on what model you get. The Saber II or Saber R are good, but the Saber R can't use normal Saber batteries, and the R batteries cost a freakin fortune. Other then ebay, you can post up a wanted ad on asc and maybe you'll get lucky. If you grab a Saber, PM me about programming.

Another suggestion for you Vince, look into ABell radios, they're clones of Kenwood radios, well, more like rebranded kenwoods. They come from the same factory. I had the TH-378S and it rocked. They can be programmed on the fly without all the frustration of software and computers. It may not have the look cool factor of a Saber, but quite frankly, I'd take it over a Saber as an airsoft radio any day.

Yes... there's a rule here about posing and posting pics of yourself with rank you didn't earn. Read it again as a refresher, so you're abreast of what's going on and are in the know for next time you post photos.
MODS don't take too kindly to those who break that rule, especially since there's users on here who DID work hard to earn said ranks that airsofters wear so nonchalantly.
Just remember it for next time. p-)

So we just wear it and hope no body see us with that type of gear.
Its a shame that people in an army like germany, are so far away from being innovative.
The standart german load bearing stuff is from 1960`s. Our field dishes is from 1940 and still looks like the thing my grandpa weared in the heat of Stalingrad.

Well the french stuff I'm borrowing hasn't changed since '45...the guys in Afghanistan are good to go, but I have no doubt they give it to guy that takes their place...the canteen '50...the boots '65 but they're basically the same US double clasp boot from '42...I'm so glad I'm in the US Army...
