look exactely what he said. 780,00, not 780,000. Thats 780.00 US$ for you US folks.

Remember Europeans use a comma for the decimal places, not a dot as the US. For example:

780.000,00 (European)
780,000.00 (US)

I hate to be a ****, but that M16A4 you got there is an M16A3. Needs a rail interface system as a handguard to be an A4

I've got an M16A4 kinda deal goin on:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v181/MrSkorotsnoy/NewM16p2.jpg
M16A2, except it's got a detatchable carry handle, and a RIS. And, of course, no burst group, but burst blows ass anyway.

I had an M16A4 in the Army, and I wanted to make an airsoft gun that was similar. I didn't want to shell out $400 plus for an actual Knights Armament M5 RAS system deal like mine had, so I just got a $120 SAMCO M44L RAS. It's an alright system, but I definitely like the Knight's one alot more. Plus, its plastic, which is durbale, but still. Eh, it works, gets the job done. It's not like I ever attatch many things to it.

I'm getting a CA M15A4 RIS in a few days. Should be on my doorstep soon. I still don't like the M16 that much as it is simply a bit too long for working in MOUT.

EDIT: Ours M16A4's are just like Callous's.

MrSkorotsnoy, are you sure?

As far as I know, the M16A3 is essentially the same thing as a M16A2, only it can fire in full auto

The M16A4 is like the M16A2, but it can have the carrying handle removed. The US Military just issues them with the RIS handguards.

FN built about 7500 M16A3 rifles for the US Navy. Just an M16A2 with full auto instead of burst. Its a very rare version. The M16A4 is the flattop. lots of civilian makers call thier flattop stuff "A3" probably because they had never heard that an A3 version was already out to the military whaen they named thier stuff.

Yo

Twombley, yeah, that is a length of 550 cord. I make 3-point slings and everything else on Earth out of it. You don't need to spend $847239847 on a damn sling that cost $0.50 cents to make in the first place. 550 cord works fine alot of the time, as far as field expediency goes.

Yes, I am sure it is an M16A4.

From my understanding:

M16A3 = M16A2 except full auto, and with a detatchable carry handle.

M16A4 = M16A2 except with detatchable carry handle, and Knights Armament M5 RAS system.

EDIT: Some of our guys (Army, not Navy) had FN M16A4's. I was issued a Colt produced one. The FN's were a bit sloppier, and had laser-dot engraved markings which looked like ****, not that it matters. Still though, the movement between the upper and lower on the FN's was more ****ounced than the Colt produced rifles. Aside from their machine guns (and even then!), alot of FN's stuff kinda, well, sucks. Including their line of shotguns they got out now, even though they are just Winchester 1300's.

Wnchester sucks too. Go Mossberg.

ANGS now taking pre-orders on cloth 249 mags

For anyone after one of the 100rnd magazines that ANGS are releasing (mentioned a bit back in the news here), they are now taking reservations for their 100 round cloth magazines for the TOP M249 you are looking at paying 25,800 Yen for one and they are available in tan or camo pattern.

M16A4 is flattop and may come with or without M5 rail adapter (USMC issues M5's as standard equipment on all A4's they own.)
M16A3 is just A2 with full auto (no flattop)

I have a copy of "Black Rifle II," these models are discussed in Chapter 6, "fourth generation M16s" Colt made A4's are either from the first run of 32,000 or smaller runs in the late 90's. FN is the only one making them now, over 46,000 as of about a year ago. I am issued a M9 pistol in my Guard unit and I have a civvie copy to practice with, but I still really like shooting rifles so I got an AR15 set up like a USMC type with M5 rail and TA31F ACOG.

Let me guess...seller emmado22 on Ebay.

She sells allso the USMC coyote version..I bought 2 of her. Just mail her and ask if she got some left.

Same price of the black GI version...15$.

I bought an original marpat woodland Camelbak (USMC trial version) from her... was on Ebay ones...mailed if she has another...was no probs.

Was that one of the camelbaks that went for like 2 or 3 hundred bucks?

My STRIKE has just arrived
Soon i'll post some pics of my strike too.
Anyway....you prefer to use it with H harness configuration or X one?
I preferr X one.
About camelback...how do u bring it up? there is no way to attach it to the chest, i've tryed as shown on militarymorons but i really dont understand how it is attached: what shown is the old strike chest with a thinner kidney wrap istead the new 1, larger and with pals.

So i can buy a back plate carrier with an hydration bag, but i would become similar to a wa/weesatch.
But if i should do this is better to sell my strike and buy hsgi and in this way i'll have the problem about how to attach a buttpack (on winter games i put there ecws parka and pant)

In the first days of having STRIKE I wore it with H configuration, but i have quickley changed it on X. It is just more confortable.

Now I am going to buy new camelbag(I had EAGLE one) maybe BFM, motherlode or transformed. But i don't want to attach it to sthe chest rig. I consider it as a backpack and i will wear it as a backpack. In my opinion it is a better way.

Kapral,

I order stuff direct with BHI, so I get to test some of their stuff. I ordered up the rear-plate carrier that connects with the same harness you have. I'll let you know if it's a good buy, seeing as you have had a problem already.

I'll REALLY know how good it is after our next desert FTX. Probably get a ton of new bruises too!

It seems good so far. Having the Camelbak in the rear really evens out the heavier loadout of EOD **** I have in the TAG EOD pouch on the chest bib above the primary section of the harness.

awesome painting.
now i see how the rear palate is attached.
But i do prefer separate camelbak.

I also see, that you have got place for 12 mags, yesterday, I realized that it is too much and I going to change the triple pouch on the double one.

And one more thing, I have got double pistol pouch with kydex. Its a little bit ****ty becouse it don't fit good, have some looses whetn attached etc.
I have to fix it.

Kapral,

I got the double mag pouches instead of the triple because of a few reaons, mainly:

1. When you remove one magasine from a triple mag pouch, the other two tend to rattle like a sonuvabitch. It gets worse as the elastic around the pouch gets old, and gives it more room to move.
2. ****, I have 10 magazines, that's all. I got this for operating out of vehicles, which in the desert around here, is an extremely wise decision. Seperate targets on any one mission are usually a very boring 40 miles apart. Rucking in 125 degree temperatures over that distance is and has been doable, but **** dude, why not just take the truck?!
3. Cause I said so. :P

It's comfy so far. I used HS Bowflage on the whole rig. I know the 2qt canteen pouch looks like ****, but then again, it's not odne yet. I'm waiting for an airsoft-hating person form another section of the forum to jump on me for that. I love that. They hate those who play. ****, what do they do? Can't have their lives currently on the line if they have a highass 3000 post count!

Well, we misunderstood a little, I dont have pouches, where three mags enter to one, but three two-mags pouches joined together :)
but this is not good idea too. 12 magazines are too much. 10 will go.
i want to have place for pistol mags, radio pouch and GP pouch. Taht's all.

And, with this desert, you're absolutley right.
Its a pitty, that we don't have deserts here in poland. Well, there is one, called Bledowska("the lost desert" :P) but it is full of grass etc.
And beaches on Leba, where Africa Corps used to train. It is nothing compared to the deserts, I was a few years ago.

I know the 2qt canteen pouch looks like ****,
so what, it has to be functional :)

bruce_m4

I'm not too happy with the Callahan setup. It's more the Hellcat Mk1 that came with the Callahan. The internal slots on the Hellcat is a pain to reload the mags and the thumb break to hold the mags is a joke. Really hard and awkward to release and snap.

The end slots (1 and 6) is impossible to insert a mag when I have the vest on. Same goes with the extra shingles I got for the Hellcat. So, instead of carring a full load of 12 mags, I can only carry 8. Maybe I'm too small for the vest.

Pet peeve about the setup, the sag I have with the Hellcat. The map pouch which has a velcro opening, keeps ripping open. This makes the whole front sag and loose. I'm sure it's because the PALs webbing on the back of the hellcat is too low. It's stitched about an inch below the top of the rig which doesn't give support to the velcro.

I have a friend that has a Callahan also but a version 1. He says he doesn't have that kind of problem on his. I have a version3 Callahan.

My other option is to buy another rig to see if it's a defect on the hellcat or poor design. I would like to get the Tomcat version to replace on my Callahan. The Tomcat Callahan came out a month after I got my Hellcat Callahan from OpTactical.

The plate carrier I have no problems with. I really like the looks and feel of it. I'll still need for someone to help strap me in when I have all that stuff on the Callahan. Buckles need to still improve in their location wise.

No, I didn't.
But friend of mine gave me some patches.
Also, I gained some reversed flags.

But i saw a photo of our forum friend, who was on Desert Storm(If I renember good) and had the non reverse flag sewn on BDU. He explained, that it was on theatre-made, and was no time to get the right one.
So after all, it is not bad.
And generally, In field I do not wear patches. Only on my Marpat there are patches and distinctions, but soon I will get another without patches.

Whats the deal with the string attached to the bottom of the magazine?

http://www.boomspeed.com/dna_/IM001387.JPG

I'm guessing it's so you can pull out the magazine faster from it's pouch. But that would mean you would put the magazine upside down, which is a big no no...

Whats the deal?

What?!?!?

I thought you put them right side up to keep them from getting crap into them. That's what i have been taught. Everytime I come back from Shilo training centre I have ****loads of sand sitting in the bottom of my mag pouches....

EDIT: Or does putting mags upside down only apply to airsoft...

Jacko
01-30-2005, 09:47 PM
Keeping the magazine upside down makes it easier to remove and load the replica. Instead of grabbing the top of the mag and having to adjust your hand (Since you're now holding onto the part of the magazine that goes into the replica), you just flip your hand over and voila, the mag is ready to be pushed in. Try it sometime.

magestyk7
01-30-2005, 09:54 PM
Yes you keep magazines upside down that's why when you buy vest's or pouches for magazines you gotta make sure it has a built in small hole for water and sand to sip out. You keep you magazine right side up only when the extra magazine is attach to the weapon magazine. The reason for this is if you go ****e dirt and sand will deffinetly get in. lol the Irony!

I thought you put them right side up to keep them from getting crap into them. That's what i have been taught. Everytime I come back from Shilo training centre I have ****loads of sand sitting in the bottom of my mag pouches....

EDIT: Or does putting mags upside down only apply to airsoft...

Well who ever taught you is wrong I'm afraid.....if you kept your mags up in your pouches and started to crawl around in the good ole dirt guess where all that crud will end up. and that appiles to real shooting and airsoft.

Tell all my BMQ, SQ, and BIQ staff instructors that what they taught me was wrong. But don't forget my mag pouches have flaps that cover the mags, and if any dirt did get in it goes to the bottom.

Well RoyalAir, I think what Bats is referring to is if turning your mags upside down is so bad then how do you effectively utilize magpuls, ranger plates, etc...

Thoughts?

Yup I will......the only...and I say again, only reason some people choose to load mags right side up is to sight whether the mag is loaded or not......but one should know where ther loaded mags are, you get used to a system of pulling mags from left to right.....just a book, so you know where you are WRT loaded mags.

Once again, mag are placed upside down to prevent the ingress of dirt and water.....Its that simple.....the grommets on the bottom og the mag pouches allow water to drain out, prventing it from pooling in the mag ( or worse in the mag if it was right side up).

By the way, this veapon is named ag3 in norway.

TM M4 RIS / SIR
yes, got both RIS and SIR handguard for this one, not shure what
Iam going to use. To this veapong I have 11 locaps, ICS anpeq
with laser, TM Batteri box, some red-dot scope that I dont know
the name on, vertical grip, and flashlight.
COMMING SOON: metal body, and m203 grenade launcher + metal sights

Picture of m4 SIR: http://www.airsoft-tromso.com/albums/Vaapen/PC270014.sized.jpg

Classic Army m24 sniper rifle
Yeah, just had to buy thisone. Spring operated at 550fps makes good reliable distance. All internal parts are from PDI.

Yes its malibu, I use to have allot of girls here on vorspiels before we go out, I also use malibu in drinks.

In the back I have cognac, some 96%, vodka, pisang ambon, and jegermeister.

Tnx, my g3 has both metal receiver and cocking tube. only external part thats original is sights and barrel + pistol grip which is originaly black so i tryed bowflage it similar as the g3 stock but I need some other collors.

I dont know how the marui g3 a3 feels with metal parts. But mine with parts from a real gun are solid as a baseballbat

Nice loadout Leon !!! My next AEG probally M4 Sir.

Tnx, This is not the TM m4 S-sytem, its a TM m4 RIS with Samurai SIR handguard ( handguard is like 180 USD)

The reason that I mounted the RIS again is because the veapon feels so much smaler, wich is good because on of our play-grounds are so smal that using my m24 there works only half of the game. This I solve having my m4 straped on my back until needed

Tnx again to all saing something nice about my gear :)

Hehe, but we all know that guns and alcohol dosent mix, so in reality it isnt a problem.

I rather drink my cold beer from a cold glas than from a hot plastic bag.

TCU is getting used very quickly. But watch out for it, this is very weak material and the medium/large size are hard to get nowdays.
maybe cut off the fingers in nomex gloves for better climate. The did something like that in nam.
And 4 M56 pouches on webbing rox :)
