View Full Version : What airsoft kit do you have?

Thanks for the pic Ratamacue. Probably the smaller size would be better then if it's meant to be worn that way, but I also use the cover day-to-day and it's more comfortable this way (having tried on my sister's again). Less afraid of it being blown off by wind ;-)
BTW, you've got the coolest USMC gallery! Where do you get all the pics from?
Thanks. Most of them come from USMC.mil or Navy.mil, though alot of the older, lower-res ones came from the various image service sites via Today's Pics.

Why do you keep your magazines on the right side of the vest when you are not left-handed?

The garrison cover? Fits me fine, one size smaller is too tight (should know, my sister's got the one size smaller p-) ).
now you've done it, post a pic of your sister :D

@Phil and Ratamacue - I'll stick to the IBA thanks ;-) though the FAST Marines do look pretty cool... high-speed, you could even say rofl (someone shoot me now)
Nickless, I spread the magazines over the IBA to distribute weight. I got rid of the covers on the right-hand side mag pouches during airsofting yesterday, and using the Magpuls it's a snap to just pull a mag out of the right-hand pockets.
USMC0300 - Rolling around in dirt commenced. Smaller cover will be ordered when convenient ;-)
I've got a pic from airsofting of me and my sis, I'm looking appropriately grubby. Sister is somehow clean. I'll upload it as soon as I can get internet to work properly.
I've got to say, using the ACOG scope really does add a whole new (more tactical) dimension to airsofting, the extra accuracy afforded at long distance by the scope meant I got me a couple of excellent long-range "kills" which I would otherwise have had trouble with. I love this setup, everything is just so easy to get too and it's much more comfortable than my M-56 gear - the weight distribution is near perfect. I'm looking now to get myself a CB ruck or assault pack for the extended ops that are sure to take place in the summer, anyone know of anything that'll fit over a CamelBak (seeing as how my CamelBak is firmly attched to my interceptor)?

I still have a long way to go before I "finish" my kit, but it is getting better and better :).
Ace gear man! One piece of advice though, pull the MAGPUL further up along the magazine a little bit. That way it's held on a lot more securely and won't accidentally come off if you're hanging it around on a finger or pulling it out of a tight pouch.

The G&P kit will fit both the A1 gearbox (as on my rifle) and the A2 box (it's actually designed for the A2 box; with the A1 gearbox the charging handle is too stiff to use :( ). The gun was originally the M16VN from TM; I put the G&P Vietnam Jungle foregrip and the metal AR15 reciever on it. A quick note of caution - the TM M16A1/VN foregrip will not fit on any of the G&P metal recievers. Only TM foregrips of the A2 type (i.e., A2, M4A1) will fit. I'd replace the foregrip with the G&P one anyway since it's more accurate and higher quality. Also, this will completely eliminate any barrel wobble - thus far I've had absolutely no problem with my converted VN and my M16A3, very stiff and solid pieces.
There are some more pictures of the VN (and all my other guns) here:

I'm not sure what you mean by "loadout", but I think you mean what guns I got and what I do and that kind of stuff.
Also this is my first post!!!
Ok I have two airsoft guns. An MP5A4. It has some sort of extended barrel and a bigger more solid stock then any other model I've seen. I also own a Falken I think is the brand name, and it looks liek a 550 SIG.
The MP5 has 250fps and is DARN accurate, plus I mounted a pretty kick butt scope on it, not those POS ones that come in the package, it's a hunting scope, about 8 inches long, goes from 3-9 times zoom, and I got it zeroed at what i would say is 10 yards, I usually use it to scope on places farther out and to help make those 50 yarders. Hey with a 250fps gun that's pushin it!!!
And the 550 SIG HAD 240 fps but I let my borther use it and he kept crashing the thing on the ground and it warped the srping or somethign, all I know is that the power went WAYYYYYY down on it. But to make up for it's lose of power I popped on a laser so you can have a claer visual area of where it will hit. I took the laser light off my MP5 and popped it onto the gun. Simply wond the cord along the side of the gun and Scotch tabed the Sumbitch to the gun.
I use those cheasy light weight .170 caliber pellets. To light weight if you ask me. The wind just takes those bastards and shots them WAYYYY off.
However that's when that scope comes into play!!!!
Also, I have a Remington pump BB gun that uses .22 caliber metal copper BBs and I'm not sure how fast it is, but I'd DEFINETLY say somethign around 800, because I pumped it 7 times and shot my friend in the leg just to get a perspective on how powerful it is, and it cut through his jeans, and went about 2 CMs into his leg, maybe 1.25 or somethign liek that. I once pumped it up 32 times, and I'll tell you what. I set up a tin can infront of a Oak pallet, the wood on it was about 2/8 to 3/8 an inch thick, and about 15 feet away was my wooden fence...welllllll...I shot the can, it went cleanly through that, went through the pallet, then through the fence. was awesome. Also this is SUPER accurate. I mean DARN accurate. My friend Kyle has a slightly better shot then me, and he pumped it up 12 times, and we had a penny balanced ontop off the pallet, and he shot the penny in have!
So yeah the gear I also use is just an Army jacket that my dad gave me, I have no idea where he got it from, and camo pants that I got awhile back.
So yeah I guess that's my load out... :P

No no...I meant 250...It's a spring gun though. Not bad for a spring. If I had 400 extra dollars laying around I would've boughten the M4 that shot 500 fps...however as being 16 my budget is needless to say, low...

Yeah, that's why schools have to belly-up to sponsors like Coca-Cola. Public schools don't get enough from the gov't so they essentially sell out and suck the corporate teet to get enough to afford decent computers. Don't give me the socialist education BS- I know what crapholes schools are around here and I think it's the responsibility of the society to educate the members of said society. Otherwise we end up with stupid policy makers.

10 bucks to 500 bucks for gear. go ebay, or go hitech. depends on what you like, or what works for you. my guess is hunting gear would be different then airsoft, but you never know.

lah
I like it. I DON'T like the "Mandarin Collar". Screw that, I never "button" it up with the velcro, I just leave it down. Plus the brim of the boonie is like having an umbrella on your head, but it's all good.
I quite like the Mandarin collar on my MARPAT, but that's done up with a button, not velcro. The collar stops my Interceptor from rubbing and chafing against my neck, which is quite nice.
Agreed on the boonie though, I heard that the Army one is now the same size as the USMC one (which is just big). What boots you got on with that outfit? They look like Bellevilles.
I took some photos of boot bands for those of you that asked some time ago, I'll throw up a thread in a little while showing how to tuck your trousers using them. They work a helluva lot better than in-the-boots, and they just don't come off.

Good news kids!!! I found my duct tape and taped my broken stock back onto my gun, so now it looks better and is more accurate, due to the flimsyness it used to have but not anymore!
I'll try and get picks of my sweet MPA5 this weekend if my friend will let me use his Digital Camera and I'll also snap some shots of my gear...

MS: Your place of residence is positively beautiful! Must be a joy to train there!
Long Trang: Nice simplistic paintjob. Looks great! Does what it's supposed to do: make it look like it's NOT A GUN!
CMDRFIRE: Good point on that. I don't wear body armor though, not for awhile. ;) Your point makes sense, especially if you have a sling or ruck straps pushing into your neck.
-My boots are "Magnum Amazon" boots, which are advertised as "NATO issue", whatever the hell that means. I like them. Good boots for $90. They aren't that warm when buried in snow for 2 days straight though.... gotta count my toes after that! woot
Blousing boots is bad? WHA?!

Great pics Howie (again!). Your environment is very much like mine (go figure!). We have more palmetto down here (hate that stuff...noisy too!), but you show the same colors on dirt, grass, tree trunks (works well!), and most plants. The only pics I would like to see are sand/dirt and rocks from a distance, and maybe one shot deep in long grass from a distance. Thanks for showing us! p-)

I dunno, the whole “Multicam” thing is getting old. I was interested in it when I first started seeing pictures of it a few months back, but now it just seems overrated. I’m sure it works better in certain situations then the BDU pattern, but over all I’m not impressed. The whole digital camo rage is getting old as well, I’m just not seeing the big deal I guess.

Go for what camo you personaly like and feel is the best "camo". Pictures never do justice however good or bad they may be. The only way you will find a good camo is by going out and trying it yourself, or playing against someone with the camo.
P.S. DnA you going to Keystone 2 this year?

If you are tired of American patterns look around for some Russian gear. They have a nice selection of patterns that you will probably not see in an average Airsoft game. Especially the more exotic patterns.

I still believe the US woodland is the most effective camouflage pattern for my area (Eastern US). However, the USMC MARPAT (?) would probably be the only alternative I’d even consider trying. Nothing any other country uses/used, in my opinion, would even be worth the money to try.

A few vest modifications and additions. All the mud and crap I had all over the vest came off this weekend, to bad, cause it looked badass dirty.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v28/TheWhiteLion777/Military/vestmod2.jpg
Now onto the real reason I’m posting. Has anyone experienced problems with their (cheese wanabe) G&P FSQWERWEHOI (or what ever the fruit it’s called) such as, failure to stay tight around torso after more then 2 hours of use, and or, failure of shoulder straps retaining their set position? And if so, how did you remedy these issue/s?
Once I get my budget back up to par I plan on buying a replacement vest, and this tie it won’t be no damn replica.
And BTW, no, no one said anything about MARPAT ;)

I personally don't experience any issues with my Guarder FSBE. In fact, I rather like that it doesn't sit skin tight to my torso----it gives me room for ventilation and breathing.

I think it might be the “simulated plates” causing the issue, but I’m not sure. Oh well, I’ll just suffer through it.

Chet... just... wow man. That's amazing. How long have you been gathering that collection? I think I see just about everything there... Most of your pouches (at least the coyote and olive ones) are Blackhawk right?
Me (stealing collection): :-*$ :Chet (happy with collection)

yea, it is a bit of overkill, but I know I'm not the only one here with enough gear to outfit a small army (Tenda, I'm looking at you ;) ).
Anyway, I like trying new stuff, and I can always loan some out to team mates for them to decide what they like.
As for the pouches, yes the vast majority are BHI, but I also have a ton of TT single M16 mag pouches attached under the BHI mag pouches and all the woodland stuff is SDS/off brands.
