I'm looking at buying either a Sofite or a Buffalo. Any recomendations?

Both good. I prefer the buffalo although its bulkier. It feels more robust and I find buffalo works best worn against the skin. You can get the softie in reversible colours - O/G or DPM one side and black the other, so it can double as a civvy top for a night out on the lash.

Is one more water resistent than the other?

No, - although the Softie has a water repellant coating. BTW If you wash them with a detergent ( as opposed to using soap flakes ) make sure you rinse thoroughly as detergent contains a wetting agent which does just that. The Buffalo is better when wet IMHO - the fact it uses fibre pile helps. Nikwax proofer will probably work a treat on both. But then if you have a half decent goretex or a dry bag getting wet wont be a problem.

Both are designed to work when wet. It's horses for courses; if you're standing around alot, go for the softee, if you're going to work up a sweat, go for the buffalo.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going for the Softie.
