Some new books (short descripitions) that I got for my birthday at the end of last week, I have finished aqll of them and they were awesome so I figured the people on here would like these, so chck them out. You will like all of them, they were all awesome. I am sure that some on you have heard of some of them, so post what you think as well if you would like. I have read all of them and in my opinoin they were great so I want to hear whatelse some other might. Also, I have read as many of the books about the modern military/intelligence/SF that I could find, lterally a few hundred as I LOVE to read, so can some others reccomend some other new, newish, books that you can think of to give me some ideas?

Here ya' go

1- Special Operations in Iraq- Aweseome, about SF (alot about Delta, SEALs, and Green Berets. Also some about SAS/SBS. By: MIKE RYAN

2- The Iraq War: A Military History- The title speaks for itself. Great pictures. By: WILLIAMSON MURRY AND MAJ. GEN. ROBERT SCALES, JR.

3-BAGHDAD OR BUST- It's the self described "inside stroy" of the gulf war. Good history of OIF. Great photos and easy to read. By: MIKE RYAN

4- Generation Kill: Im sure all of yoiu have heard of it but for those who haven't it's the great story of some guys in the war. By: EVAN WRIGHT

5- Thunder Run: Armored Strike to Capture Baghdad- Again, the title is self- explainatory, great read.

Well, I hope that someone out there takes me up and reads these cause they are great books. Please post your opinions if you have read them, I think this could be a good discussion on here. SOrry if there are any typos, I spilled on my keyborard so it stick a little. ;)

is this the book that is quite thin but costs a lot as it has many (maybe too many) colour photographs of what they think are Special Operations units in Iraq, but are actually of standard Green Army as the authors don't know the difference between the two?

EDIT: I'm right.

I wish some SEALs would tell their accounts in the Mog.

I have not read any of those books - a good read for a-stan is "Weapon of choice - ARSOF in A-stan".

however it may lack some of the "pizzazz" others may offer.

"Berlin" by Beevor (a former Brit army officer) is a very good book. Highly recommended.
