ALICE has been more battle-tested than MOLLE I think

most of the gear I own is ALICE, but the gear I have in MOLLE is outpreforming the ALICE (in my opinion)

Yeah , the US - gear I own is ALICE...so I wouldn't know about MOLLE that much yet.

And I haven't got anything bad to say about ALICE , it has worked great for me.

Well golly gee.... ALICE is based on technology that is almost 50 years OLD.

MOLLE / PALS based equipment solves a few of the problems inherent in ALICE based designs - FLOPPING and that damn METAL clip.

In building gear over the last couple of years, I have ha one request to build an ALICE compatible piece of gear, everything else was MOLLE compliant.

ALICE honestly is a more or less time tested and proven design.

MOLLE rucks are hit and miss depending on which generation and version. the ones issued to our unit before going to Iraq were pieces of **** - the cheap ass plastic frames were constantly breaking, people were constantly loosing all sorts of pieces and parts off of it (mostly straps), most people don't like how it sits, and when it came time to come home most peoples looked like something a gypsie sold them. the design was just too freaking complex - gotta remember KISS when making field gear.

give me an ALICE Large any day :)

edit: refering to gear like pouches instead of simply ruck sacks... MOLLE is nice because of its incredably flexibility it offers. i had some issues with poorly manufactured pouches where you couldn't get the straps through all the loops, but it seemed pretty sturdy other than that. for that it's all personal preference (and it depends on the application)... if i had the money for a nice vest i would probably deck it out with all sorts of MOLLE gear on it...

I like MOLLE because it got rid of the freaking clips. I remember getting done with ruck marches and having bloody spots from where the clips dug into me.

Although the ALICE rucks are pretty damn good too.

I can't compare because I've only used ALICE gear, but it worked.

I feel that any piece of equipment that can improve the soldiers welfare is a plus.

Those clips.....those darn clips.

I used 550 cord to tie everything onto my belt, so no clips.

Both systems are inefficient. The military should actually look at what works best not what cost the least. Something like an SOTech Callahan or Hellcat would be much more effective.

I have several ALICE equipent pieces, but I think MOLLE is much better because it hasn't got those f***ing clips....
And it is fully adjustable to the person who is wearing is... :D
