Thats real multicam? The multicam eagle ind is putting gear out in? Looks like it is missing a few tones from the advertized versions.

http://www.multicampattern.com/

It just looks totally different.

Geez, I can't wait until Multicam BDUs are released. I've been waiting for like months and its driving me crazy!!! I'm hoping that the BDUs will be released together with all the gear/equipment in the same pattern.

NO the pouches are mine made from cordura I had shipped in from Crye.

The base platform is an MJK color Eagle MLCS 'Rhodesian' harness

The pouches are ExtremeGearLabs (geardo.com) specific

Cheers!

I've been talking with the lead designer of Multicam, Gregg, over a period of about 3 months now. They are in the final stages of testing the BDUs to be sold commercially. In fact, they could announce on the website anytime this month that the BDUs are for sale. I was kind of dissapointed when he told me a couple of months ago that just the fabric would first be available--that doesn't do anything for me. But, hopefully, we can start buying this awesome camo this month..........

Man , I just don't know about this Crye Multicam thing. Somehow , I'm just not convinced that it's suited to all enviroments out there.

However , I'd be interested of acquiring a set of this stuff myself (since there's so much talk about it) for some testing purposes here in Finland (and hell , why not Sweden as well when I'm headed there again sometime in the future).

It would be interesting to see how this stuff would blend into the Finnish woods and general "bush" , not to mention Sweden as well. So more or less , I'd like to find out how it handles itself here in northern Europe...

Yeah , how much have they tested this stuff in European soil , I wonder..

Btw , speaking of Italian camouflage patterns this "Italian woodland" works great here and in Sweden too. It's "dark" enough in colors..

Yeah , I've got a set of this stuff. Very nice.

The ACU is a done deal. That's what the Army went with, NOT MultiCam. And considering that no one here has any ACU items, we don't know for sure which is better, the ACU or MultiCam.

Can you wear theese in a combat situation for Infantry 11b?

Roaming East
12-28-2004, 05:09 AM
Only if you want to get shot by your own men....
seriously, the military aint keen on letting its members wear whatever they want. breaks down the professionalism a bit. i figure operators would be able to get away with it though but most of the ones i know prefer to wear IND clothing

Can you wear these in a combat situation for Infantry 11b?
If you have to ask that question, then the answer is "No." Why would the US Army let you wear another uniform? Webster's definition of uniform is: "to bring into uniformity" which means everything is the same. Maybe if you're in a special unit you could get away with it, but don't count on wearing any non-issued uniforms, or probably even gear, until you've been in a while, esp. if you're a boot 11b.

While no one has any tangible ACU items, judging by MM's comparison, I'd have to say Multicam flys miles above ACU.
