Someone burned an 8-foot-by-8-foot Nazi swastika on a home's lawn near where Bush-Cheney signs were posted. The vandals used grass killer to spray the symbol.
Several nearby homes were vandalized -- all were within a two-block radius on the West Side, near Ice Age Trail, News 3 reported.
State Republican Party officials claim it's the latest in a series of desperate acts by Democrats.

He's either attempting humor or he actually thinks that someone was already displaying a swastika on his lawn and some do-gooders came by and burned it.

How ironic that the same people who compare Bush to Hitler are the ones with the love for swastikas...

We had a group of people down here that used to burn symbols on the lawns of people they hated.
They were, and unfortunately are, known as the Ku Klux Klan.

I'm glad they are investigating it as a hate crime. Regardless of whether it was a dem, a repub, some nut job extremist or just some stupid teens with nothing better to do --- that's not acceptable.

Yes I'm a bastard my mother is Flamish and my father a Waloon.
Maybe I did not understood completely the story but I'm against nazis, what I was happy with is that a nazi symbol was burned, that's a good thing, all nazi symbols must be burned, destroyed, erased...
Using grass killer is to expensivefor this duty, gas is enough, or maybe a lighter and if you canot burn nazi symbol because they are in concrete or stone you can use a hammer ...
I'm not surprised that this happened in front of Bush-Chenney's whatever because these billionairs can only create hate, and I think that this event is not similar to a kkk happening but surely due to people (activists) against a way to do politic.
I do not matter about the political point of vue (bush/chenney) i was just happy about detroying a nazi symbol.
Is this clear enough?

Mate, I think you missed the point, they weren't destroying the swastika they were imprinting it in the grass, or creating one :|

And I do add that here in Europe my parent and grand parents did suffer the nazi oppression and for US, Europeans, destroying a nazi symbol is something good but maybe in the States burning a Christian cross or a nazi symbol is to be "with", there is the difference and the "qui proquo" of this case.
Who did not already understood that I was against any form of extremism didn't read what I wrote sooner on this forum. :bash: Make your opinion.
Ugh!

I read this : " Someone burned an 8-foot-by-8-foot Nazi swastika on a home's ..."
Burning = fire isn't it?
And follow MY opinion (MY own one from myselveve only) Bush is far right.
Ugh (again)
Uh, Phil?
You might want to read the story again.
What it says is that some vandals "burned" the swastika into the lawn of someone whos political opinion they disagreed with. A swastika was not destroyed, it was created.
in other words this was an an act of destructive vandalism of someones property. Not the destruction of a reviled symbol.

I don't believe it was fire. It was chemical burn - less obvious at first - more time to leave the scene undetected.
I was trying to keep it simple due to the language difference.

There was no fire involved. They put grass killer onto the grass, in the shape of a swastika. The grass killer killed or "burned" the grass, so now there is a swastika on the lawn.
No fire.

Before the nazis used it, it actually used to be the universal symbol of peace. :|

This is the same sort of act as the KKK. carrys out. The same.
Now that you understand what happened, I would like to hear if you think that it was the same.
Or was it somebody expessing a political opinion? In your view.
I've seen the sort of people that burn crosses on front lawns. So I do not want some flippant answer that dodges the question.

Not only buddhist, this symbol appears in many civilisations but what the nazis did with it makes me think that it may not be used by westerners anymore, in my country this symbol is forbidden.
The law says that any symbol linked to criminal organisation is prohibited.
The nazis are criminals not the Buddhist, I'm wrong?
I do not care about what happens in countries where this symbol means something else.

Additionally, the scum that did this need to be hunted to the ends of the Earth. Then brought to a court of law to answer for what they did.

Well Sir Zach of R. i'll be very curious to see you communicating in French or German, but i'm very glad to see that you know Southernese, and Arkansas'n, with these both language you're ready to rule the world
@ Mark Sman, i suppose that this was somebody expessing a political opinion but i do not think that those who did this were nazis or a kind of kkk members at the countrary i think that they wanted to assimilate Bush/Chenney to the symbol maybe some left wing activists?

Dude, burning a symbol on somebodys lawn is an act of hate and intimidation. It is like the KKK.
These sorts of acts have a long history in the US. The people that did this damn well knew what they were doing.
Using a Nazi symbol says more about the human filth that did this than about the victim. Thats right victim.
If someone sneeks up in the middle of the night to destroy your property for purposes of intimidation, they are scum. Human waste. And I hope that the bastards that did this are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Left, right. Doesn't matter these scum need to be caught and put in jail for a very long time. Or else, this could be a beginning rather thatn an end of their career as thugs.

I don't think, or at least hope it isn't a democrat since these things will definitely strike back at them. Probably a left-wing nutcase or someone masking the burglaries as a ploitical thing.
Or just some drug crazed **** trying to be "funny"

An 86 yr-old lady attacked a Bush supporter today in NYC. The Bush supporter had stickers and a Bush-Cheney poster with her, she walked into the old lady's apartment building to deliver them to the "only Republican that lives in the building." The old lady flipped out, ran across the room and pummeled her on her arms and side of the head.
When there's 86 yr-old grandmas attacking people, something is definitely not right.
