Nothing is ever free. Especially with marriage and the military.

It was posted in General Discussion a few days ago.
It's actually a prototype for a turret proposal for the next gen. IFV.

you all might think that driving a humvee sounds all cool and ****, but it sucks, after i got my damn humvee/2.5ton truck license, my life has been horrible, detail after detail after detail...my advice, let your stateside license expire so you just can't drive anything, that is if you're stationed overseas. plus it's not like you just decide you wanna take one out for a spin, you gotta do a buncha paperwork preinspection bs with the pog's down at the motorpool. i hate working with remfs. worthless. all worthless.

^I agree, a military drivers licence is something to be avoided. Apart from the hardcore four wheel driving with out having to worry about trashing the vehicle. :P

For traffic I'd rather have one of these:

Much more fun :)

ANd one little IED takes the whole damn thing out and the people that ride in it.

I would rather have a Bradley in that situation hahaha

No thanks.
One of the number one killers of troops over there in non-combat deaths has been vehicle accidents, mostly involving HMMWV rollovers due to the up-armoring.
That bitch is about as top heavy as it gets.
When things are going boom all over the place I'd rather be in an M1A3 or a Bradley. I have seen weapon mounts like that on dune buggy type vehicles... but at least they had some serious speed. The Humvee has probably less acceleration than an Abrams and a lot less armour.

Or you can drop 15 to 25K for a used one(VERY BASIC) from military surplus in working condition and high miles.
No need for a special license. Your drivers license is JUST fine.
No paper work other than your regular emissions (if you even have that), plates and tags.
Not the most comfortable rides compared to the more civilian versions, but you would have one.
