Soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment, took part in a Battalion Parachute Insertion from RAAF C-130J Hercules aircraft over Shoalwater Bay Training Area, near Rockhampton to begin their role in Exercise Crocodile 2003.

The 3RAR soldiers form part of the land force participating in the joint Australian/United States training exercise, which also includes the Australian Army’s 3rd Brigade, 1st Brigade, Royal Australian Navy ships and Royal Australian Air Force aircraft.

Exercise Crocodile 2003 is the major training activity for the Australian Defence Force for the year, and involves more than 6,500 ADF personnel, as well as approximately 2,600 US personnel.
