The bow was the most important weapon. The Mongolian composite bow was made from layers of horn and sinew on a wood frame which was then lacquered. Compared to the English long bow which had a 75 pound pull and a 250 yard range, the Mongolian recurve bow had a 160 pound pull with a range of 350 yards.
