i have a question about the Micro Tavor and the MARS reflex sight:
why dident the developers of the Mecro Tavor,dident put the MARS sight on the berell like in the regular Tavor???

ye i dont have the photos of the new modol of the mecro tavor,but i know that the sight is not on the berell,like in the lond TAR-21 (http://www.isayeret.com/weapons/assault/tavor/tarbig.gif) and the CTAR-21 (http://www.isayeret.com/weapons/assault/commando/commandobig.gif)

Kinda hard to speculate unless we can see a good picture, perhaps the barrel assembly on the micro tavor situates the sigh too low for a soldier to properly aim.

Latest pics ive saw was of a 9mm converted Tavor, looked real sweet and sight was up on the reciever. What i wouldnt do to shoot one of the new Tavors..

if i will have luck,and i will meneg to get in to one of the IDF SF unit, i will probebly with shot one of the Tavor rifle in my military sercies.

and i know this verstion of the mecro is very cool,i dont think its the letest.

Heard that was the latest from a contact within the IDF, of course there are other ones without the 9mm conversion etc. but thats the only pic i found.

I wish you the best of luck getting into any of the "Sayerets" or S'13, MATKAL's etc. :D

In the Tavor1 the MARS was an integral part of the Tavor. The red dot was turned on by moving the selector switch from safe to semi. The laser in the MARS was also activated by a built in button on the handguard.The IDF soon droped the idea of the integral sight (Red Dot+Laser) because it was too expensive.The Mephro M21 was chosen as the standard sight.

You can mount the MARS on the rail of the Tavor2 or any other rail but youl need external pressure switch to activate it.

The basic weapon is 5.56 And has a piston.Both Tavor 1 and 2

Note the cable runing inside rhe handguard from the MARS to the integrated switch on the handguard for activating the laser(Tavor 1).

The 9 mm kit for the Tavor2 is blowback.
