Chechnya. End of August 2001. Mi-24 shot down. Both pilots died. They tried to make emergency landing on autorotation after hit but they were too high to do this and too low to try to use parachutes.

They delivered supplies to remote border guards outpost. Wrong altitude echelon was selected and SAM launch warning systems seems to being turned off this time. Thus they became easy prey for bandits.

why those chechens didn't attack the MI-8,it's easier to destroy a mi-8 than a mi24

They shot down last helo in convoy to avoid detection and immediate justice.
